Lore potions and ID

Olme:
I'm not able to Identify items  via using  a Potion of Lore.
 
I've had two items recently, one tagged with '18' needed to ID,  Potion of Lore failed (2 attempts).
Then went on to ID without using a potion.

Second item, currently unidentified, is tagged  with '22' needed to ID.  Again Potion of Lore failed.
Item is still unidentified.

All a Potion of Lore does is increase ones Lore by 17 or 18 for a few seconds. Once you drink it and examine an item it should help to identify but doesn't guarantee anything. Do you know what your Lore was after drinking?

Yeah, my mis-understanding.

The potion is tagged as (3), so I had figured it was the equivalent of a 3rd level casting of Identify @ 10 lore per level.
