Title: Layonara for dummies - how do I?
Post by: Crizzan on January 12, 2008, 12:18:38 pm
How do I subscribe to forums or threads? Another post led me to options, where I enabled subscribing to threads where I post (a bit too late, but btter than never), but how do I add threads or forums that I have not (yet) posted but use for reference or just enjoy reading?
For instance, I have been reading up on lore, myths, locales, etc. in various forums. Getting to those threads (and remembering where they are) from the front page can become a matter of paging through the contents tree.

Also, how do I subscribe to calenders? Not as big a deal, but I saw it in the mail tree, so I thought "This could be useful to put most things in one handy place." Organizing your work load is not all bad.

In the top right of every thread, just above the top post, are a number of grey dropdowns, titled "Thread Tools," "Search this Thread," "Rate Thread," and "Display Modes."

Under "Thread Tools" is "Subscribe to This Thread."

As to subscribing to calendars, I don't know if you can. If you can, though, I'd love to know how, too. ;) Seeing everything that pops up would be handy.

Good thing the thread tools button was not a snake...

Hey!  I take offense at that!

...I think.

Along the same lines of subscribing to threads, how can I unsubscribe from one that I _was_ interested in, but am no longer?

Go to that thread, use the thread tools button, and click unsubscribe. You can probably also do it from the user control panel.

Tried the subscribe to calendars function on the calendars pages. It does not alert me about anything... even though I show subscriptions.

BTW, the reference to a snake was a slapping my own forehead with a loud "Duh!" response.
