Dead in the Rift, need info/help from GM
« on: September 05, 2011, 07:55:25 pm »
Lana Poetr and Jako Stonehill were both killed in the Rift and were unable to respawn because of lag.  After a long wait, we both exited from the game.  What happens now?  Will we die again and risk losing a soul strand again if we go back into the game?  Or is it 'safe' to log in and respawn?

Could be either...  Recommend you get a GM online as witness before you log in.  You can coordinate this in IRC or let me know what time you guys can come online and I'll make sure I am there.

This is complete, normal relog death, so SS rolls by either player.

In general, you need not worry about such cases.  All deaths are logged, as are the Soul Strand rolls. If you were dead when you logged out, you'll be auto-killed when you log back in.  Whether a GM was watching or not, the result would have been the same, and there's really nothing a GM can do to prevent it.

If, by some odd turn of circumstances, there was an additional Soul Strand loss due to logging in and being killed by the system, this would once again be logged verifiable. So again, there is no need for caution or concern. This is not a normal behavior of the system, and as such we would not hold any penalty to you as a result, however unlikely it may have been.
