running windows seven, neither gnomish log rotator will work (old one seems to but no text captured in logs, five thousand crashes nwn unless it's disabled).

anyone have tips for win seven and glr?

in the nwnplayer.ini make sure that ClientEntireChatWindowLogging=1 is there under game options. That's for the glr3.1

Have you tried running the 5000 as administrator?
