    becoming a spellsword

to become a spellsword do you have to be a duel class first to become a spellsword or can you just stick with being a single class then later evolve into a spellsword with just that? for example do you have to be like a fighter/wizard first and then become a spellsword or can you just be like a wizard first and then become one. do you have to be a single class or duel class first?

As long as you meet the requirements...
Requirements: To qualify as a Spell Sword, a character must fulfil all of the following criteria: Base Attack Bonus: +4 Skills: Lore 6 Feats: Must be proficient in simple and martial weapons as well as all forms of armor use Special: Must be able to cast level 2 or higher arcane magic
...being wizard until you meet the requirements and start taking your Spellsword levels is probably fine. However simple weapons, matial weapons, light-medium-heavy armor is five feats you'll have to take right there. So most just take five wizard, five fighter, and the rest Spellsword. ZV-

Since you need all those feats, if you were pure wizard and spend every on of your feats (except your metamagics every 5) towards the requirements you would be able to take spellsword as your 13th level or you 10th level if human.  So if you were human you could easily do 10/10 wiz/spellsword which would give you the advantage of more spells and higher caster level, but youre base attack would suffer and you wouldnt have as many feats compared to the ftr/wiz/spellsword route.

I think the 10/10 wiz/spellsword could be an interesting character.  One that isnt seen that much at least.
