Well, I was quite excited to find this server. After going through the character application process, and finally getting everything I need for the server, I realized... There are NO low level characters on. Or perhaps when I'm on. I'm PST as far as time zone goes, but I think the most I've ever seen on the server is 15. Which wouldn't bother me, except... Well, I'm alone. No one near me.
Any suggestions? Am I just unlucky enough to be in the wrong timezone? What should I do? Because quite frankly, roleplaying by yourself isn't roleplaying.
Not to mention, I'm tired of getting killed by skunks :).

Well, a good number of our players are college students, and it's exam time. I am one of them. What time do you usually play? I'm EST, so i could be on when you are... I'm just busy...

I think there are a bunch that just got approved, so there should be lots of low level characters, but yes, with the holidays I think that there are a lot of people that are out doing holiday/family things so may not be on quite as much. I would keep trying. It's very worth it, but I understand about the skunks... I remember those days, and they weren't fun. Try getting killed by rats or skeletons to change things up a bit :D It gets better, and I'm sure you'll meet people, just give us a chance to all get back on. And as Shiff said, let the college students get back from finals. Then they'll have so much time and they won't know what to do with themselves!

I know what to do with myself! I... ummm... have... uh... food to err... eat.... Yeah... *shifty*

With the exception of my primary, I've only got low-level characters. What time zone are you in? Out here in PST, it can occasionally be lonely too.
(Oh, and according to the records, Kell was killed by skunks three times. I remember a bunch more, but perhaps I stabilized before I finally bled out. ;) )

I'm EST, so if you see one "Richard Windwhisp" online , or a "Hektor" (if your willing to save him from the red lights) or a "Lyr T'ko", send me a tell, and I can find ya. :)

And don't be afraid of the high levels. Some good RP, great even, to be had through interaction with the higher level characters. High level characters can even adventure with you, and most of us that consistently play high level characters won't steal your thunder by obliterating the baddies with our banshee wails and whatnot- afterall, we had to earn the levels, and you should earn yours, too (dragging is against server rules, as it were).... but there's no reason why you have to only group with low level characters.

Don't be intimadated to role play with higher level characters, just don't expect them to kite you around and "level you up". They might give you a tour of places you can safely adventure or give you a couple of buff spells and help you with a quest or two. Or just sit and discuss your home life or the current state of cotton in Dalanthar or anything else.
Levels 1-5 go really fast and 6-8 pretty fast too, so you will be catching up to those slower to level 10-13 in no time.
// too slow - what Milty said too :)

Also, try OOC means of communication... you can find out about our IRC channel here, LORE: Basic IRC Tutorial (http://lore.layonara.com/Basic%20IRC%20Tutorial)
or just go to http://forums.layonara.com/betairc/ and type in a name.
Send tells in-game to people you see, and ask them what they're doing... I've been here a couple years, and I assure you that most of us occasionally have to resort to that to find people to RP or adventure with.

Things went MUCH better, which means character interaction! YAY! Woohoo!
Thanks guys and gals :)
Good to see that even if the server isn't a madhouse, there still is a good community around it!

I'm in the PST timezone and hopefully I'll be able to show you around. :D

Eh I'm in Mountain Time zone, so if you see Chaynce Baldu'muur (The Protector of Paladins) on send me a tell and I can show you about!
