Yes, hit multiplayer, then enter your bioware login and password.
You'll get to another menu, and you should select "Join LAN game"
After that, click "direct connect" and enter the server address and password that will be given to you when your character is approved.

there is one problem though when i hit create new character on the down left corner button ( i dont have a bioware acct yet cause i never tried online in NWN cause mine is fake lol ) it says I am BANNED  uhh what now ? can still play OL in Layonara?

You will have to have legal NWN CD keys to play Layonara.  
 
 The Diamond or Platinium editons are quite reasonable (Due to the fact it is such an old game) and can be found on Amazon and other online sites. Buying second hand thru Ebay could land you a legit or another problem copy.

One of the files was a .tlk file. The instructions say to install that in the TLK folder. I have a NWN Diamond Edition and am updated to 1.66 for some reason my account won't update anything further than that (luckily it doesn't because I just found the thread telling me not to update to 1.69) point is. I've unzipped all the folders into their respective folders except the .tlk file.  Where do I put that? Is it as simple as creating a folder called TLK like you do with the portraits folder?

You will need to update fully to 1.69 - I believe you must have come across an older post before we adopted the newest update.
 
 You are correct, just create a folder named TLK and place the file (not in a folder but by itself ) in there.
 
 If you are having troubles updating, I think a search of the Bioware forums has some suggestions.

You could check Neverwinter Nights: Welcome to BioWare's Neverwinter Nights (NWN) Community Site! for a Critical Rebuild update for your copy of the game. It is a .exe runnable file that automatically patches you to the latest version.
It is a heavy downloader though, could be up to 300MB nowadays.

You will likely need to sign in to the site for getting the update, your Bioware Account is the same you type to get online inside the game.
