To steal loot IC not ooc the other players must be made aware oocly or even ICly.
ex.
Looter: *counts up the coin* 2000 here..., whats 2000 4 ways?
Party: blah blah
Fighter: I think it's um...
Looter: 400 right?
Looter: *gives everyone 400 if no one points out his mistake*
