How does Counterspelling Work?

(1/3) > >>

Trace Nightwind:
Hi all,
I have heard a lot of talk about how to counterspell.  When I try and selet the option it is unable to be selected, yet when I have my Summon and I right click on it, I can choose counterspell....What does it do and how can my fat dwarven Wizard, Bama, use it?   Thanks!  -Trace

ZeroVega:
Try defensive casting mode. I'm pretty sure that any mage within range (just stand next to one invis) will have their spell countered if you have a Lesser Dispel, Dispel Magic, Greater Dispel, or the same spell memeorized. Pretty sure anyway. ^_^

steverimmer:
With counterspelling you need to right click on the mage you want to counterspell and use the dial select in order to use it.  Its not selectable from the quick bar as far as I know.  I think but am not sure that you also have to have 15 or more in spellcraft.  Denfensive casting as far as I know can be used from the quickbar.
Bil has used counterspell a few times and thats the only way he has managed to get it to work anyway.  Hope that helps :)

Milo:
Counterspel is basically a mode you can switch into and out of, when you turn it on (radial dial on yourself), your mage will automaticly counterspel any thing being casted within range, providing you have the appropriate counterspells

steverimmer:
Heh I didn't know it could be used like that...gah all those times I struggled to right click on enemy mages in the heat of battle :(
