I don't know why it was so close to the side, but I was walking along the sides of the broken woods and last second I saw an assasin vine was following me into the fort. I've tried killing it, but not too much luck.
EDIT: When I died I was bound to Hlint. I spoke with some people about the vines, I wasn't too clear on where it was though, and Jaleel ran ahead thinking it was in the broken woods (or at least I think that's what he told me).
