Just a question.
« on: June 07, 2005, 06:03:00 pm »
Are there any Pale Master's on Layo at all, or have there ever been any? And more importantly how often do Pale Master's get spells, because when I used to play the single player game I had a sorcerer/Pale Master 15/4 and the Pale Master had not gained one single spell on any of it's levels.

I know of 2 on layo.

the manual says they gain spells as if they had gained a level in their previous spellcasting class every 2 level.

Yes but isnt it just spell slots and not new spells?  I seem to remember it was something like this.

It gives new spells per day but doesnt increase caster level.

The highest spell level you can cast is based on caster level I believe so you will not gain new spell levels form this I dont think.

However, when you do gain the spell level you will have more slots in it than you would otherwise.

Anyway, thats how I interpreted the description.  Its rather vague and I havent tested it.

Thanks for the info and does anyone think a level split to 20 of 14/6 or 13/7 or 12/8 would be aloud preferable the first and second because I would still like to be able to have some high level spells if I do become a pale master but those seem more unlikely.

If you're looking for a powerful build than 12/8 would be the best, as you'd get many Palemaster abilities by level 20 (if you make it that far) but you'd still get spells up to 6th circle, and you could take Eschew II to knock out all your spell components. However I've recently taken a liking to RP affecting your characters development all the way, so perhaps he'll want to go 15/5, or 10/10. But in the end it's up to you.

Is 15/5 or 16/4 aloud because that would be great!?

If you're talking about wizard/palemaster levels. Then 15/5 is the most you can put into wizard levels by level 20. You must have at least 5 levels in palemaster by level 20. Now if you're talking about 15 Palemaster/5 Wizard that's impossible. You can't have more prestige class levels than base class levels before level 20. So either way, the most Palemaster levels you can get it 10 (10/10 split at level 20)

For one thing I am a sorcerer and not a wizard. I thank you very much for this information I though a level split of13/7 was pushing it, and yes I meant sorcerer15/pale master5. My character is already an 8th level sorcerer anyway :)
