Could I play a Monk 10 Druid 30 Chr ?

I am an old PnP D&D player but I am just geting into NWN. I have been playing EverQuest and World of Warcraft for the past 6 years.

The Druid class is my fav so I want to play a Druid and the Monk lvls would help out a lot as a Druid.

I really would like to check out your server and see if it is for me.

I would be really greatful for any and all help that anyone could offer.

  Also in the submission threads you will find more rules regarding submitting characters, but more spefically I need to hightlight the following for you:
  "There's a restriction with multi-classing of druids, monks and paladins. A character may change from/to any of the above, but once you leave the path of the above, you are never allowed to return to it. Any change from one of these classes should involve a Character Development Quest."

Hello and Welcome.

This is a Role Playing Server.  When you meet someone they will be in character.  This is as close as you are going to get to the old PnP days in an online environment.  

Take the time to read the many areas on this site.  Start with the links under Game Information at the top right of this web page.   Download the hand book and browse through the forums.

When you do get ready to make a character. . .  make sure you read all the sticky notes under the character submission forum.  Some races, classes and alignments are restricted or temporarily restricted.   Also read through some of the other players submissions.  The good, the bad and sometimes the ugly.   It will give you a good feel for what is expected in a character submission and will save you a lot of heartburn down the line.

the only way I can see doing what you want, is to do a monk, and RP very HIGH levels of loving nature.  At level 10, doing a CDQ over to druid, and then sticking with druid FOREVER (unless you start taking shape-changing prestige class-that could be your ECDQ)  
there IS potential, and it would be nice to have a druid with monk skills...  It would take a ton of patience to pull it off though, and TIME!!!

So to answer your question: Yes, it is feasible to play a Monk 10 Druid 30 character. In my opinion a Monk/Druid is a good combination because a monks philosophy is often times very close and parallel to a Druids.

As listed above, be sure to read all the requirements for being a Druid. If you start out as Monk, keep a Character Develepment thread showing your characters progression to the Druidic Path.

I can think of a few Druid characters (my character included) who would enjoy meeting and guiding your character onto the Druidic path.

I'll just add a quick comment here.  There is a rather obvious concern with the Monk/Druid combination, as the Druid's focus on the Wisdom attribute combined with the Monk's Wisdom based armor bonus is a VERY powerful combination.  Mix that all up with the Druid's wildshapes and elemental shapes and you've got a recipe for a seriously power-built character.

I would never say that such a thing isn't possible.  But considering the above points, such a character build would have to be very well established in role-play and make perfect sense given a character's bio.

Its Kinda Like making a Monk/Assassin/Shadowdancer or instead of Assassin using Rogue.
They Team here want RP classes not PG'ing Mixes.

Also the Monk Has to be lawful and the Druid on Layo has to be True Neutral.Atleast to my knowledge.

see- I woulda never thought of that, but I'm an innocent, and wouldn't know a power build if it slapped me in the face.  perhaps thats why I mentioned it, but

I still like it, if its RP'd, and the character isn't used in an abusive manner.

druids on layo do not have to be TN but by standard game rules a druid must be N. Therefore a LN druid/monk combo is possible but the bio would have to be fantastic and the rp excellent. There would also likey be a plethora of cdq's involved.

Yeah, this would be made difficult RPwise (I would hope) since its (roughly) one of the more popular powerbuilds since hotu put the level cap at 40.

Huh....I too would never have thought of it from that aspect, but it DOES make perfect sense. Quite the powerful character indeed! Wow.

Like Rhizome and Ice have stated (and I would listen to them!) IF it is approved, RP it like there is no tomorrow.
