I agree with the last...  As a new player I did grope a bit for where to post and what to read first.  There is simply a ton of information here and it was daunting to arrive to this community as a newbie.  I still make heavy use of the search tool to figure out which forum I need to be in, but Im getting used to the layout after a month.

I like the forums in general and find it far better then many forums for NWN or other games.  I also like the idea of having a forum to respond to the char development thread. I suppose you could post something in the Inn but its more of a patch or bandaid approach. I for one wouldn't really care if others posted in Aelayenns posts, but on the other hand their is no real way to post in my other two characters posts one is recorded in a personnel diary, and the other is recorded by her master via magic.

Besides the fact that most Character Development threads are private and unique to an individual character, the threads in general serve 2 main purposes.

First, they help you to track the progression of your character through its life here on Layonara. It's a handy tool, and it makes you think about your character's life, where it's been and where it's going.

Second, the GM Team uses it when approving PrCs, CDQs and so forth.

For both reasons, it's not really a good idea for other people to go posting in your character development thread.  If you want some form of public discussion on your character's development, the best thing is to make an IC post under Wild Surge Inn.

I have only really been active on the forums for about a month now, maybe a little less. Pretty much since I submitted Turor. So quite a bit less, now that I think on it.

Anyways, I haven't really found anything wrong with the setup of the forums as they are. I find them easy enough to navigate, and time and time again I'm easily finding what I need to post in. Of course, I rarely have anything to report so my posts are mostly just... y'know... replies to whatever everyone else is talking about. Oh, and bragging about spitting on Drows. So many drow... so little saliva.

Yea but personally i think that forum is a little cluttered with all kind of stuff my character either not interested in or shouldn't know about. It'd be rather obvious for a newcome to think that the Wild Surge Inn forum is for Hlint only. Therefor i really think adding some subforums there for several big towns in Laya would sure benefit all of us :)
