AMD Athlon 64 4200 Dualcore Processor
2gb RAM
Geforce 7600 GS w/ 512MB DDR2
320mb HD
18x DVRW
DOOM DOOM DOOM!!!!!!
I Dub this machine, The Wrath of Goran. All hail the avatar of the gnomish lord!
It still cannot compete with Celgar's Eye of the Machine God... Though it will do for now...
I can't wait to see those sweet new tilesets Pooser was telling me about.

noice!

Why oh why didnt you buy a 8800 card instead. Oh the choices of mortals. *grins*
-
Overall nice, but I'll add that 2GB of RAM is not optimal for much longer, 4GB would be more than enough.
-
Pretty sure I have 512 MB RAM, and it works perfectly well inbetween crashes. 4 gigs. Har! Confront the true challenges! Less is more!

2gigs is more than enough if yuor not going on the crazytrain to crazytown Vista: population you. If you really need 4gigs to get good performance out of your system, you should consider buy a new one instead.
-
Yeah, I consider 4GB the new polepoint, because eventually most people will go to Vista (hope not). I have 2Gbs myself and it's more than enough - so no arguement there, but Vista is poking it's ugly head in really fast.

"You're pointing out vistas flaws. Cancel or allow"
I have a Geforce 7800. 256mb of GDDR3, the speed is worth the lesser amount of memory ;) btw, I want your cpu and mobo :)

I'm pretty sure whether we want to or not Microsoft will try to phase everyone out of XP and into Vista. I don't really see the need to since to me most of the improvements that were made seem to be visual, but Microsoft wants their money...
Nice specs.

Yeah.. thats only.. what.. 300$ more than the 7600?
As for forcing people to vista, go install ubuntu, get Cedega and play games on linux.
Oh, did I mention it's free? (er, well cedega is 15$)

Well not if you buy the 320meg version of the GTS version. Overclocked it yield equal results for the 640meg version. Besides if you go Vista you'll want to be ready for the new DX10 games. Crysis is one of those I'm expecting big things from.

Hey, I COULD make toast on my apple laptop when I'm overclocking the heck out of it.
----
My definition of "Watercooled" is what I had to do when my friends hp caught on fire...
Now THAT'S something I can afford!

With a p4 prescott core, you could fry eggs ;)

I bought a massive block of copper for my cpu (http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/reviews/cooling/Thermalright_XP-90C_1.html) It looks something like a hood intake on a custom mustang, but does the job. Keeps my athlon x2 4400+ crsipy cool. Nemesis-64 has been good to me :)
And gratz on the new system, hope you love every moment of it :)

Get a Quad Core ;)
