Linking to a message within a thread

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post website related questions, but I found this to be the most suitable forum.
  Is it possible to hyperlink to a specific message within a thread, for example link to this one, if it was contained within a long list. I ask as when linking to the character portraits, some seem able to link to the page but display the relevant information at the top of the screen, so as to link to that particular message.
  If anyone knows the way of linking this way, please post here.

It is possible... Though, it's slightly tricky...

Say that we want to link to my first post in this thread: http://www.layonaraonline.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=30210&posts=21&start=1

We have to find the ID of my post first. So, click the quote button. Check the URL and look at the "replyto=192649" part. As we see, the message ID is "192649"

The link we want is then: http://www.layonaraonline.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=30210&posts=21&start=1#M192649

Done.

  And my message ID is:
  154514
  Then the URL would be:
  http://www.layonaraonline.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=14&start=201#M154514&posts=238
 
  EDIT: Doesnt seem to work, just links to the top of the page...hmm...maybe its due to it being the character portraits thread? and being 6 pages long?
