Hey!

Looking for a book recommendation.  About to travel a bit and haven't been hitting the fineprint enough.  Figure you guys know what I like in a story more then most others.  If I had to slim it to two favorites in current mind it would be Dune and For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Hope all is going well folks.

I'll recommend three authors, thus making it more likely that I hit upon a heretofore unread collection:

  • Jim Butcher - Particularly the Dresden Files.
  • Terry Pratchett - Pretty much everything he's ever written.
  • Spider Robinson - After the style of Heinlein, but a little more up-to-date
Enjoy!

Read "Tinkers" by Paul Harding.  At just over 200 pages, this Pullitzer Prize winning novel is an amazingly rich experience.

Stories edited by Neil Gaiman and Al Sarrantonio! A collection of stories similar to the Grimm fairy tales! :)

Currently re-reading the George RR Martin books (in preparation for the next book and the HBO series coming) - i'd forgotten how good they are.

PS. Hope you and your little guy are well!

I am on my second reading of "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever" By Stephen R. Donaldson

It is a really good series if you can find them because they are out of print.

I hope you enjoy your trips!! Check in with us more often!!

Old Man's War. -John Scalzi.

Another take on Heinlein ideas, but a fun read, and a starter to that universe.

Agreed!! These books next to Ender's Game are my all time favorites.  And they are worth another read. *grins*

Managed to get three of the four scalzi books read Milty.  Thanks for the recommendation.  Might still read the last of them this week.  Kindles sure manage to make binge reading easy.  Reorienting from beach to... yep, still snow here.
