    Tips
    « on: September 09, 2005, 05:54:00 pm »
My character Zeos is meant to be RPed grumpy.
I'm finding it difficult to be in his shoes at the moment (since i'm such a nice guy........no really I am.)
I was hoping I would be able to get some tips.
Aleister is a FINE example of grumpy.
But although he is a good example, copying him isn't going to make Zeos original.
    Some tips would be appreciated.

    thanks
     ;)

Turor's grumpy. Here's how to do it.

    Step one: Don't talk.

That's right. If people come up to you, bawk at them and turn 'em away. Go as far as to be rude and say "Shut up."

Step two: When talking, grumble and gripe.

If you end up having to talk, be cold, and quick with a sharp tongue. But don't make it stinging, make it broader. It's the difference between a rapier and a club.

Step three: Proclaim hatred for something.

Say you hate something when the conversation gets boring. For Turor, it's elves. For Aleister, it's annoying dwarves. Just pick something to hate. Maybe you hate trees. Or really stupid people.

That's the three step program to being a grumpy sack o' crap. Enjoy!

Hrmm ... well ... one grumpy thing I have Barravelve do is say something in Drow, that is mean, and translate it into common so it means something similar, but nicer.

He also names people in Drow ... like he calls Acacea "Annoying" ... and Ayla "Woman" but in Drow,

Only examples I know .... just some ideas

I know what to hate now.
        Drows.
I accidently killed one earlier when he casted darkness and i fired off a fireball.
How the hell was I meant to know he was there?
well....i'll go practise me grumpiness towards them....

        *laughing*

I was the drow you killed. Kind of funny, because Xenadrin hates humans, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, everything else on the surface, and above all else elves. He's always making rude comments about people in drow, then when they ask what he said, he lies. So, I guess we have something in common. We hate each other.

And you probably didn't see me for 3 possible reasons

        1. I was in the darkness
        2. I was hiding (stealth mode. Xenadrin is a rogue with extreme dexterity. But apparently not good enough to evade a fireball.)
        3. My clothes are black and I may have blended in without actually being in th darkness.

//All rude comments are for Role-playing reasons. They are not sincere and please do not take any offense.

          *smiles* sorry about that.
Well we got something good to role play now.
Our hatred for each other every time we see each other
          *Smiles* See you on Layonara.
