Well...
« on: September 23, 2006, 10:08:56 am »
Currently I am trying to get logged into Central for Quantum's wlcdq.  We had been on west but needed to jump to Central and log from there to the quest server.  Mix took us to the gm area for the portal to Central.

I have been trying to log in for the past five minutes, repeated receiving the message: "Error: Invalid Player Name or Password".  I can't even get into my game's multiplayer mode, as it won't let me.  :(

I'll keep working on this for a while.  I have already logged out of the game entirely and rebooted my computer.  I have retyped my Player Name and password several times to no avail.  But this blasted system keeps hitting me with that error message.  This is very much a downer as I was thoroughly enjoying the quest.  :(

I would greatly appreciate any help on this.

I can't even get to the screen where I enter the server.  I open the game.  I click the Play button.  Then Multiplayer.  It brings up the player login box.  And then repeatedly tells me I have entered the wrong player name or password, not allowing me to further.  I guess I can just sit back and hope this is some glitch that will solve itself in time.

Apologies to Quantum and Mix - it was an awesome quest and feeling very frustrated right now.  :(

Will try for a few more minutes then go do some other stuff.

Sounds like a bioware issue.. try heading to the bioware site and logging in there and see if there is a problem

That actually sounds like your firewall blocking gamespy.  'Try again nick'?

Disable it and try logging in.

You could try this way too...

1. Unplug your internet cable.
2. Try to login into NWN with your username/password (yes, with the cable unplugged!).
3. You'll get a timeout message after a while. Ignore it and get to the history/favourites list.
4. Insert your internet cable again.
5. Wait until you see the Layo server appearing "online" and login.

It might work if you don't change CD-key... ;)

Got it fixed

And it was all because my former keyboard had a faulty "c" key. It started yielding "ce" every time I hit the "c" key.
I ascertained this after re-installing nwn and entering the cd key. The c/ce problem caused the fields to be "off". Checking it I found the problem and confirmed it on my word processor.
Thank you, Minerva, Chongo, and Weeblie for trying to help.

The irony of it is that my keyboard's "c" key had to malfunction at that particular time. If it had done so moments before, while we were roleplaying in game, I would have caught it, as typos drive me crazy; the same for if it had happened after we got onto the quest server. Oh well.
I'm glad your quest turned out well Q. I did my best to get back in-game, asap. But I was getting no where and even more frustrated. So I took a break and when I got back to my computer, managed to figure it out as I've indicated.
Looking forward to helping with your quest, Mich! See ya soon.

Looking for a log...

...of the discussion between Ael, Cymeran, and others in Arabel while we waited for the start of Michaelis' wlcdq, late Saturday.

I thoroughly enjoyed the roleplay, but with this re-installment I did today, I did not have the requisite file configure to enable logging - so I have no log.  :(  *resigned ironic chuckle*

I've exchanged pm's with DMOE regarding this, and it's my impression that she has me covered.  But given the fact that these logs get overwritten easily, I'm asking anyone who had been present at that gathering who had logging enabled to pm me an excerpt from their log of that session that contains this discussion.

Some of the points Ael and Cym covered pertain to Ael's upcoming wlcdq - hence the importance of this to me.  I've just finished making some notes on what we covered, but if I could get a copy of the log, all the better!  :)

Thanks and I hope I can get a copy of a log of this.  *crosses his fingers*
