First time in Layonara
« on: December 03, 2009, 11:16:00 am »
Greetings all,

My PC has been approved by the gamemasters and "Shadowleaf" will be arriving by ship to Port Hempstead sometime tonight.  Mostly going to be getting aquainted with Port Hempstead and see what the merchants have to offer a woodelf on my first login.  Im sure I will be in need a good meal along with some drink after a long journey at sea...

can anyone recommend a good tavern in Port with good prices on food and drink?

Hope to see and greet many of you in Port tonight after my arrival and a full stomach once again.

Something that might interest your pc depending on time zones is a game for new starts on sunday (can be seen on the calendar) and will run as a short series. Worth checking out?

Dawn of heroes Quest

** Lance goes by the band and sends a flying pass in the middle of the Area, And Mix strikes the ball with the head scoring *

// Soccer reference .

Seriously . this quest would be a good way tio you start seeing how the GM's are capable here and the rich stories we have in Layo.

I don't know if I'll be on tonight, but feel free to ask around mate, there is plenty of people who are willing to help or show you around.

Cheers.

they may be a mixed bag but Rockhead Howling Wolf (Bard), Grendola Pigstrotter( Fighter) and/or Isherwood Smithson( Rofie Cleric) will generally:

a, help you but sell you a song,
b, help you and discuss pigs and meats
c, help you but speak in such long phrases you'll long for silence

depends on who you catch but try asking everyone when you log in. even the highest levels will generally help unless you're evil, boring, evil and boring.

I'd go for some character defect all the time though.........being short and purple is already taken though.

Thanks again all,

There does seem to be many friendly people in layonara (im sure some are not in RPing), but that keeps a good balance I think.

There is nothing worse then playing a very well rounded mod only to have it filled with jerks and power hungry gamers..   Since NWN first came out I have been trying to find an all around great NWN RP mod that has the feel of PnP D&D back in the days.  There have been that have come close, but I dont think (by the sounds of it) I have ever played with dedicated GM/DMs and very much look forward to that my friends.

So would i be breaking the server's etiquette rule by asking some Q"s in (tells) OOC about the game?  I wont be bothersome, just need to know if its ok to ask Q's to players OOC?

It's okay to ask people things in tells, OOC. Just make sure to approach them politely, and ask if they have time to answer your questions first! They may be busy--read: running for their lives!--so don't take it amiss if they might not have time to answer right then. ;) Most people are pretty helpful, though, and sending tells is a good way to meet a few other characters to help you. It is a big world right now, physically, so there are many geographical areas players may be scattered over and if you are unlucky you might not meet someone else who wants to go adventuring with you right away just by chance, so tells are a good way to prod fate into making paths cross!

A tiny word of caution: Port Hempstead has been hit by a tsunami recently, in an in game event, and there are still a few changes to that city as you may see. For one thing, it's been heavily evacuated and taken quite a lot of damage! It's a very dynamic world, constantly changing in response to plot lines and player action, so just be aware of this.

I am always polite when asking anything, thats just the way I am.

When I first arrive tonight at Port Hempstead, Shadowleaf will be mostly be just wandering around taking it all in.  Since there has recently been a Tsunami...maybe there might be someone in need of some type of services or help?

(IC) That must be the reason my journey by ship to Port hempstead was very rough and at times with horrible weather!  Shadowleaf overheard the Sea Elves talking about this before it happened, and they charted a course to go around the Tsumani the best they could, the new course heading did add another two days to our journey to Port Hempstead, but better then having the ship capsize and we all perish at Sea...
