The Death of a Shadow
« on: July 05, 2007, 11:52:08 pm »
Hello everyone...

I know most of you don't know me, well, personally anyway, and I'm sure most of you never will, but...

Well how do you say it...  I mean, how does anyone say it?

My beautiful bunny rabbit, Shadow, passed away today...   And I never saw it coming...

Norwegian Dwarf...  Thats the breed, about 10 - 14 inches long when she laid out like a puppy.

I first met her when I was about...  15 or 16, at a boyscout meeting.  She was barely 4 inches long then, not even a week old.  I could grab her around the midsection with one hand and she'd never go anywhere...  I got her about a month after that...  She used to "kiss" me, I'd stick my head in her cage and she'd run up and press her lil nose against mine and we'd just sit there...  Her fur was really soft too...  Like silk, but softer...  Kinda wish she was the size of a Great Dane, I'd lay her ontop of me...  She loved Good & Plenty too...

I loved my Rabbit...

Rest In Peace Shadow

Very cute bunny.

It's always hard when a pet dies.  I'm sure Shadow had a good life with you.

And, as with any such passing, quick and unexpected is almost always better than slow and lingering.

My condolences, Shiff.

I've lost two, and I still remember bawling my eyes out on the first one.  Rabbits are very special pets.  I understand your pain Shiff.

*hugs*

Aww....She was cute...

I'm sorry to hear this. Loosing a pet is almost terrible and in many ways worse than loosing a person. Pets, unlike people, are so dependent upon us for almost everything, that it's all the worse to see them go. I remember my first dog and my gineua (sp?) pig....

I'm sorry Shiff, may Shadow go to a better place, a great carrot and lettuce filled meadow in the sky.

It is always hard to lose a close friend. Be well Shiff and think of the good times.

Sorry for your loss.  That was a very cute little bunny.  I never had one before, just cats.  Right now we have a very very fat and cuddly one named Scarface and a teeny little feral one named Squeaky that eats the neighbor's dogs.  Rabbits never really liked me much; I'd try to pet them and they'd scurry away or pee on me.

I don't know about dane-sized bunnies though.  My highschool history teacher Mr. Iori told us one time about when he hallucinated from lack of sleep and saw big green bunnies the size of Buicks hopping around the highway.  He hopped out of his car and started trying to flag down all the drivers, warning them to watch out for the bunnies until cops picked him up and made him go home.  Now many years later and having almost completed college myself, I highly doubt it was all just lack of sleep that did it though.
