Thank Ghost and Ed. I understand now what you mean by epic. Even if your character doesn't know who the person is others do. Remember the list of epic names and when you come across one rp with them too get a story from them. Then tell someone else later, and so it begins>

"There are things that almost all civilised people would know, it's in the lore of the world now. If you went up to any merchant or any crafter in the world, and asked them what they knew of Blacklung... they could tell you something. They may not know he's a human. Or that he's old. That personal type of information is rarely covered in stories... but they would know some things. Basic things." ~ Ghost.

Alright... Now, I hate to break the mood of wonder and acceptance (really, I do; it's quite a nice feeling), but that *points up* is exactly my point. Every CHARACTER knows about the Epics. Do the players? Not all. Not most, from what I'm seeing.

Where's the thread telling us what our CHARACTERS know about the Epics? (In general.)

Sure, there are the Completed ECDQ threads... But quite a few are noticably empty, except for Pankoki's two posts. (I think it's Pan, anyway.)

So... Yeah. Let's see to the original intent of this thread, because I, for one, am really looking forward to the way it will enrich the roleplaying to have our characters actually know who Rhizome is, or Rufus Coldfinger, or Triba Gues. Or even Ozymandias! Aside from chewing diamonds and drinking dragon's blood, I don't know terribly much about ol' Ozzy, and I RP with him on a more regular basis than any of the other Epics (aside from Enzo)!

Epics are... Well... Epic. So when will we see the stories of their Epic-ness?

I suppose this does drum down to a simple thing that Leanthar said so long ago. If there are no stories, there will be no statues. No stories and therefore its up to the imagination of players to come up with random stories about the epics.

In turn it is fair that the epics, much like their stories, write their own roomer mills. Of course take it or leave it, I can only speak for myself. So to placate at least one person, look unto the hall of heroes, I hope by the end of the weekend to have something in there.

However as Stormspirit has said before, some epics of course would go out of their way to insure that absolutely as little was known of them as possible. “Rufus comes to mind” being a quote. The post itself is somewhere buried in general discussion I think.

When the epic character players start writing them.  Might want to get a whip or two :)

I'm working on Athus's poem at the moment

Heh, I'll write the bloody things, if the Epics could get me some info.

You can quote me on that.

EEEEEE! OWY!

I'm actualy done Ed, just waiting for my tempurature to go down so I can proof read it. I already spotted one technicly correctly spelled word that is also the wrong word intirely. So I imagine I've a few more that I won't catch in this delerium.

Now just give a forum for 'well known facts about epics' and I'll lay down some things Ozy has probably been infamus (or famus) for doing.
