It always amazes me that most of the spelling errors on this forum are from Americans . Please, don't call me pedantic (if you even know the meaning),

perhaps not pedantic though it may appropriate, but more likely condescending in the thought that we are too stupid to know the meaning of pedantic.

actually, Ice, it would be a matter of ignorance on our part, rather than stupidity.  and since everyone is ignorant of something, I don't suppose it's so bad that there are 'English' speakers who are not familiar with the word.
