Animal Factions

As if you builders aren't already in over your heads with this exponentially growing update, here is yet another request! Please don't hurt me (much).

Please-oh-please can we change the animals, with the exception of a few of the more dangerous ones like bears and lions, to a non-hostile faction so that if you want to attack them you actually have to right-click and radial attack. I know they have the factions they do so rangers and druids get the full effect of their empathy stuff, but really, is it so much to ask that they only need to use that empathy system with the known hostile animals? I'm tired of getting divebombed by owls and chased through AT's by deer.

Anyone else with me on this?

Actually, what I'd like is for animals who become aware of the PC to have a 5 second "Fear" (as in the spell) effect applied.

Imagine a deer that neither blithely let you kill it, nor attacked - but instead, actually ran away!

That would also be interesting to apply as an effect to monsters very low on HP.   Not as a faction, but individually.

Nice idea, Steve! not sure how hard that would be to code, but hey, never hurts to ask.

Heh...already fixed for this one.

Deer, stag and wild chickens will no longer go on homicidal (and suicidal) rampages but rather will act very much like...herbivores.

Everything else just has an attitude. ;)

To add to this, owls and other birds, badgers, etc. all were hostile and attacked on sight before we put in the auto-mass calming behavior a while back, those animals will continue to be hostile regardless.
