Storage of boxes

Just an idea that has been turning in my head.
  Boxes can store items limited to the space in the box. For example it can hold 35 feathers or 6 ingots and so forth (35 blocks of space). But boxes cannot be put into chests or crates which makes sense in a certain way.
  My suggestion is to get a piece of furniture, like a rack that can store 4 or 5 boxes or even one would help as well. My reasoning behind this is that say I collect feathers to store and I dont want to carry it on me, then I have to empty the box into a crate, which is quite a painful task of moving small items. I cannot leave the box on the floor of the house because it will be cleared by the scripts. I dont think a rack could be abused due to the fact that boxes have space limits and not item limits as chests and crates.
  So I can place a full box of feathers onto the rack without losing it or having to unpack the box.
  Any comments?

How about having the racks, instead of chests placed in the bank, where characters purchase a box from a merchant, put what they want stored, and then find a rack with an empty spot. Racks could be placed in public places or they can craft their own rack. Same theory as weaponcraft for the use of wood can be used for the making of a rack. Better the wood, the larger the rack.
