Post by: minerva on January 31, 2005, 11:03:00 AM
I was in the process of unloading materials from my ox into my inventory when the last crash occcured...lost everything that I had unloaded...what is the policy on this.? Sent a message thru the DM channel, no response...

Update...Bad ox Day...Loaded up the beast headed for Hlint..Cast invis on him to get tru the forest...Ran into a party needing assistance..Invised myself and healed the fighter ran out of forest..ox followed and *poof*  disappeared..

I tried going thru a transitions or three..logged x2, but no ox, logged for a long time still nothing and the ox vender will sell me another...what's the scoop?

sorry to hear about your bad luck - have Katrien send Ollom a note if you are unable to recover the final box of goods that he delivered to her earlier in the day.  he'd be happy to make the trip to provide another box.

Unless Orth knows of some way to see what was in the oxen inventory at the time of the crash we do not give items back.  Sucks and I know that.  But if I do it for one I will have to do it for all and that is impossible without some sort of proof of what one had on the oxen.  NOT that you are lying (or that anybody out there would) but sometimes people make mistakes--and sometimes big ones.

Nope on ox death the items get wiped from the ox table.

This could be changed to happen when they buy a new one though... hmm.

The weird thing is that her ox didnt die, as far as i could tell, it just dissapeared.  As she transitioned out of the forest, I was still in it, and watched her ox stand at the transition, then go through into krandor outskirts, by the time it did the spawn we were fighting was dead, and nothing harmed the ox... apparently it just never showed up on the other side of the transition.. Perhaps its still in the DB somewhere?  since it wasnt killed?

As far as the DB says, the ox did die at 12:05 PST.  I really can't tell you how it did though, sorry.

I completely understand...no harm in asking though...

Is Fred truely dead (heh catchy) or just grazing on somewhere hitting on the cows? Talan was with me and saw the ox leave the forest...

When you take items from a persistant chest or ox pack its like you are gathering it all over.If a crash happens it dissapears.
Its happened to me a few times.Always remember to rest right after you remove items from a chest or ox pack to save.
