Sometimes when your opponent plays a Dragon, you are the one taking the damage, if not instantly killing your avatar, lag issue, perhaps? This happened to me more than once while playing against Wyatt.
-
this might be because it takes the hp from creatures first and since wyatt also summons the big nasty fire elemental that exlodes when it's hp reaches zero the dead fire ele might be whats killing you
-
Also, if there's no creatures around to bite into and you're below 51HP, the dragon will just take a bite out of your avatar for 50 damage killing it. Can't tell you how many times I (and others) have died because we forgot the 50 damage mega bite rule. ^_^ Just be careful when summoning a dragon.

ZeroVega: read again, i stated that it was Wyatt that cast the Dragon, not me, i don't even use it on my deck.
Regarding the elemental exploding... i find that odd, since the creatures were right next to his avatar, not mine.

If there are no creatures in play the dragon will take a bite out of the closest avatar. It's doesn't depend on who summoned it.

That is weird, since the card isn't supposed to work that way. It is supposed to take 50 HP, either from YOUR creatures (if you are the on playing it, of course), and if your creatures haven't enough HP, it takes the remaining from you. Now, that just doesn't make sense, since it's such a powerful creature at such a low cost...
Anyway, when that happened to me, there were indeed creatures in play, and, obviously, the closest avatar was my opponent's one, since he was the one playing the Dragon.

hmm, no idea, never had it happen to me, ive had the exploding elemental once, i've also boomaranged the dragon back to his hand after he spent the life or gained control of it afterwards and killed him with it, honestly i like when he plays the thing, it's fun to turn it against him heh
