Why not get more foes that can dispel magic,.....
as the world is now a cleric is the most powerfull fighter in layo, and the wizard is not far behind according to me. With more dispel magic around one could count less on the super buffs and be forced to use tactic more than it is right now. It would also needed to be good at a magic school to be able to hold on to the buffs one have.
My simple thoughts...

Actually monsters can dispell. However it is the bioware AI that does not work very well with the dispelling. To the point that we have actually removed the spell from creatures because the combats were so darn fast that it just made no sense to do the dispel a sit was over seconds later.
But we will certainly discuss this again.

I'd have to say with the way the Bioware AI, tactic can easily be seen as exploiting. Its the downside to NWN as opposed to PNP.

Hehe, I remember Syn get hit with the Greater Dispel of a Skeletal Devourer and it knocked off most of his buffs. That was great fun to watch. I say just pop a few more of them in, perhaps make em spawn invis or something just to watch the players squirm. ;)

I've been hit by dispels on many occasions.

I know that you've discussed different AI's previously and said they caused too much lag etc but I just wondered if an AI that worked in SP would work in layo. Mainly I'm thinking of the one that comes with the henchman hak, something that I use all the time in SP mainly because spawns don't stay still they wander about a lot more and also because the monsters use all the spells that they have well...intelligently. So for instance monster mages use their familiars as well as summons, they dispell the drow use darkness etc etc.
I'm sure though that it probably won't work on a server otherwise you'd have tried it by now but I thought I'd show my ignorance by suggesting it :D

That is one of those that we have tried. However, it was quite some time ago (well over a year).

ahh ok...mind you its been updated a few times now :)

It also stoped working with patch 1.66 unless their is a new version since then. But the newer versions were working much better just before 1.66.
