Title: The Journal of Azuryn Da'roth

"After over 100 years of planning, my uncle Ur'don's plan to breach to the surface succeded.. To bad he died just a couple of weeks after and I had to see everything by myself.. The surface is different than I tought too.. When I thought that seeing the sun for the first time was hell, guess what it was like to meet the first duergar *two strokes are across duergar* dwarf.. Heh, can I blame him? Despite of this I have earned lot's of gold by solving other people's problems.. Hah, guess they can't handle it themselves.. I got to see many new places.. Well, anything is newer than the dirty caves of the underdark wich it is called.. It will be difficult to fit in on the surface, but I rather face the difficulties up here than head down into the underdark again..I only met one who wasn't hostile from the first hour though, but I will just have to stay clear and learn a bit more before I jump into anything.."

"Now things are beginning to change.. I have traveled alot through the areas of this land and got to know it better.. I have also aquired a lot of gold wich is a big advantage, but I seem to have spent it all in one place.. I bought a very powerful longsword that will serve me well in the future.. The training I recieved by my uncle will now be put to good use.. I also met some very powerful warriors today.. A man named Plen and his wife.. They helped me and a group of others to get the lizardfolks leader's head.. Their magic killed them almost at an instant.. And when I thought my day was over, I met another drow to.. We talked and he seemed to serve "The spider".. I do not possess much knowledge about this since where I lived in the ... underdark was pretty isolated, but he said that the drow that wasn't with them was against them.. I don't like following an order like a puppet so I spitted on his offer to join them so he told me my time would come.. I laughed.. Let them come.."

"I feel that I can see the world more with my own eyes now and not just from listening to others.. I have met some new people and some have been, what should I say, acceptable.. Still having problems with duergar *two lines area across duergar* dwarves.. They are hostile even tough I tell them that I am not their enemies.. I do not wish to be anyones enemy, but because of my heritage I am.. Must I really prove myself to all people to show that I am not their enemy? Do I have to bend to the common way of life to not be hated wherever I go.. Bah, I don't really care about all the others, but I find it very hard to trust anyone and I think that I cannot be trusted yet.. Altough there are some who don't go hostile because of my skin color, there is one person that I like better than the others.. Rahzon was his name.. He helped gather some will-o-wisp essence and sold me his old armor.. Even though I didn't pay him all, he said that I seemed ok enough to loan me the gold.. Not only does everyone take me for evil, but they think I am aligned with all the other drow.. I AIN'T I TELL YOU! Most of the drows are rotten bastards, like the one I met some time ago.. Despite of all the ... that comes everyday, I have for the first time seen snow on my adventure into the Grey Peak mountains with two guys called Set and Path.. Had some real fun to, killed ogers like they were flies and amazingly enough they carry much gold to have so small brains.. Also retrieved the gold of vukas for the woman in Fort Llast and got a reward, but I spent all the gold on a new sword I bought yesterday and one today.. I don't know how things will evolve from now on, but I will just have to wait and see...."

"What really troubles me everyday now is the fact that I can't show my face without being attacked of some sort.. Although many people are acceptive, some can't seem to read between the lines.. Today I have done some more jobs and the gold is starting to roll in.. I also tried some crafting wich many seem to do, but it was so boring running back and forth with supplies all the time.. The main thing that happened today was that I joined up with two people hunting undead in the Broken Forest wich lead to a big adventure.. After the Broken Forest, I talked to a dwarf named Brue.. He was the one who tried to kill me earlier though, but now I weared my hood all the time.. I learned a lot.. He asked me if I wanted to go to a place named Berhagen mountains to take on some giants and that was something I have never done before.. Many others joined us along the way and we cut through the giants and ventured deep into the Berhagen mountains.. After we returned, Brue and some others decided that they needed a bigger challenge.. They wanted to travel to Dregar and to the Bloody gate.. My first trip to Dregar.. The boat trip was amazing and I have never seen so many people like I did on Dregar.. This must be one of the most interesting things I have seen.. When we reached the Bloody gate with headed into the mountains there to kill more giants and it seemed to go well until Brue decided to storm a group of giants.. It went bad.. I died trying to run away, but luckily I was rescued from the grasp of death and managed to return to my grave.. With all this done, I followed this Brue some more to visit some friends that didn't seem to show up.. AFter this, I headed back to Hlint.. I hope there will be more adventures like this in the future......"

"Today I have joined up with Brue again.. That crazy dwarf can't seem to get enough of the killing.. Anyways we went down in the Krandor crypt with sme other chumps, I don't remember they names.. This went on for some time, but I got hell of the exercise out of it.. After hour of hours of killing, Brue told me that something was about to happen in Pranzis and he was to travel there.. Not being to Dregar, I followed him and met up with a quite large group of adventurers at the gates of Pranzis.. The big event was a storyteller.. A storyteller? What good could that be? She continued on a story that it seems she had told to the others before.. It was something about a knight, crystal and some bubbles.. ... I didn't understand a thing.. Suddenly the teller dissapeared and we was in the future, we were ghosts.. During our quest to find out what happened, we stumbled on a cave that no one wanted to investigate.. Guess they were to afraid..Well, we had to find the crystal to bahh I don't really know, but it all ended up with that we reunited this knight and his girl of some sorts.. Was it really in the future or was it just a story? I don't really know and I don't really care, but we got out of it allright..And as of the thing me being drow and hostility, that don't seem to go away.. Do I expect it to go away? No, because I know it won't...."

"These couple of days have been very strange because of all the events that have unfolded.. Since my last entry I have been working out a lot on my weapon performance and skill.. And it seems I am getting closer to master my swords everyday.. Uncle Ur'don's training showed me much, but I have to figure it out on my own.... Now that I have been updated on the events with this Sinthar Bloodstone, many things have changed... I recently got into the dealings with a green-dragon..A group of adventurers have been trying to get an alliance against Sinthar wich seemed to have gone well.. I am not entierly sure what all was about since I just stumbled upon this "quest" and was actually blind under the whole dealing".. That is not all, Sinthar have sent drow attacks on Hlint and beblith's.. Let's hope this don't continue cause I don't want to be killed by those things.. I gathered some people and headed into the grey peak were one of Blood's generals was sighted to see if the drow might have come from there.. It was fruitless, but hopefully the attacks won't happen again.."

"The last days have only becomed more and more valuable.. I have trained and trained on my combat skills and has improved indeed very much since I first arrived in Hlint.. I have also managed to aquire better weapons with enchantments.. Pherhaps I can master these weapons to fullest.. Who knows? Longsword was both my father and uncle's weapon of choice.. The only thing has been special these last days has been that Blood's forces have taken over the Bloody Gate.. Myself and some others headed there to hunt some giants and get some gold, but demons where roaming the mountain wherever we went.. This blood should com face to face with me, then we shall see who is the strongest.. I also met another drow named Ta'ryth.. He and I have spoke a lot and done much together in a short time.. I showed a bit around where to find things and such.. Thereafter we went on some hunts and we started crafting a bit.. We also discussed a bit to pherhaps open a store because on our hunts we have aquired a huge amount of good equipment and gold.. Who knows? Pherhaps someday we will....."

"ARGH! Dammit! Being a drow and being killed by a drow.. I think I lost it... There had been some strange killings on Rilara, near the Bloody gate.. I went there together with some others to find out what it was.. It seems that drows and some flying manticore was responsible.. We where ambushed and I got killed.. BLAST IT!! Luckily, some elf managed to raised and then I got out of control.. The hate got me and the only thing I wanted to do was to kill every drow I could find.. It's strange almost hating your own kind, but the majority of them are nothing but evil.. I want to set an example to them all.. Show them that they should keep their skinny asses down where they belong.. What I feel right now can't be described.. I do not kill everything I see, but I know an evil drow when I see one.. I don't care what others may think of drows on the surface, but I am sick and tired of wearing a hood all the time.. I will just have to wait and see....Again....."

These pages contain letters written in blood and other unknown substances. The pages smell and are written in a strange way that at times can look like ramblings. "Cold......Dark......NO! Wait!.....I see blood and, and, Layonara in ruins... Can't be, Can't be! I ran away, to far for my own good. My own good? What is good to me? NO! Nothing! I deserve nothing, absolutely nothing. My veins are filled with corruption and evil. My weapons, weapons, has not tasted the bitter taste of blood and flesh for ages. All they tasted or felt has been the cold air and razorsharp rocks. I trained, I trained till my arms almost fell of. Training? For what? For revenge? I wanna return but... But what will I see? Ruins and blood? Ruins of the land I so wanted to live in and the blood of people that built it? I hope... Hope..." *The writing seem to be more controlled now and calm* "I want to return from this cave and face my fears, but will it help? Can I set things straight or do I need to face the old land I left? I am scared of heading out of my exile, the exile I deserved. I cannot change who I am, I can't. As I am writing this, I am stepping in the corpses of creatures I did not expect to meet. They keep coming and my swords are starting too loose their keen edges. I don't know how long it has been, but I can feel the flow of time. I can feel the time passing by, the time I may have lived in the world I love." *The writing now seems to be written in anger and hate* "Drow.. Drow.. Drow.. They are nothing more than peasants with poisonous minds and corrupted linage, but I am one of them. I came to the surface and learned, I learned what they are and what they have done. "The world... The world has changed.. The world is not what it was when I left it. The mountains where giant used to roam are now infested with creatures I have not seen before. I..I cannot describe it. I can't put it on paper.. Though returning to the surface for me was something I been longing for, I was not given a warm welcome. I roamed the lands around Fort Velensk minding my own buisness. I saw a man inblack clothing talking to one of the priests there. The man in black told the priest something, I can't remember exactly what it was, but I didn't pay much attention to it. All of the sudden, guards took me away to prison! Together with a not so smart half-giant that supposedly have seen the man in black too. We were held there for some time by a crazy wizard. He was trying to get us to confess, confess a murder we didn't commit. I really wish it was me that killed him and not our rescuers. I don't know who they were, but all I know is that they were involved in something. I don't care really. They got me out and I told them what I know. Guess I am wanted now in Velensk. I should not travel there in the nearest future. This half-giant I met called himself Rock. He was pretty bothersome, asking me stuff all the time since we got out of the prison. I showed him some places around Hlint. Guess I was bored. Seemed like a guy to rely on in combat though. He pretty much crushed everything in his way, but no way if he can beat my swords! But I.. I gotta think of something soon. I can't continue constantly living in the shadows, but it is not the time yet. I must think....think.. I'll think of something.. soon.."
