Wow, a lot has changed here already from what I can see. It truly is amazing to see this world grow and evolve time and time again. Don't take this stuff for granted. It's absolutely amazing to see such great progress and such great people together.
Now then, as some of you know I had a job as a GM for Blizzard. It was all kinds of fun. And yes, I'm referring to it in past tense. While I loved the job, it seems that I really should finish school before I get out into the "real world". Entry level positions are great as long as you get to move up, but without a college degree, that's hard to do. So sadly, I gave up a sort of a dream job to settle back down here in good 'ol Cape Girardeau Missouri finish out my schooling and make something of myself. fortunately I managed to leave on hella good terms, so perhaps once I'm out of school I could get back in there. But now I'm rambling.
Also, while I probably won't be for a while still, I'm gonna try to get back on and play a little, because I did learn something from all the WoW I was involved in: I really miss RP.
Another thing to remember is to truly enjoy your time here. I learned that from WoW. There are very few games in which a PLAYER can make a direct impact and change, and that can happen here. I challenge someone to find a major MMORPG in which you can do that, and for that matter, I challenge you to find a small-scale (well large, but small...er...yeah) game in which you can play in a world that is non-static, and is non-static based on YOUR actions.
Ever wonder why the Great Library is available to you? Players did it. There are temples and land marks and all kinds of things all over that are direct results of players' actions. So yes, cherish what you have here.
I guess the old cliche of "You never know what you had until it's gone" really applies here.
But on a less sappy note I hope to see you all soon in-game, and hopefully i haven't been gone so long that they're gone. Would suck to log on and find an absence of Scherzo, heh.
