Title: Will you defend Layonara from its enemies?
Post by: Harlas Ravelkione on May 21, 2005, 04:24:00 AM
* A hooded figure posts notes in inns, and near the wells of towns and cities on Mistone. The figure is seen by few, and recognized by no one. *

 - Do you oppose the darkness that is gathering all around us?

 - Will you fight, so that others might continue to live in peace?

 - Do you oppose the use of dark magic (necromancy), the summoning of demons, and the creation of
undead? Would you see such foul rituals banned from these lands?

 - Are you prepared to do what it takes to win the war against those who assail us?

If you find the statements above to your liking, you should consider joining a The Grey Circle. Write your name beneath this note, and you will receive word from us.

These are some of the principles I live by.  However I am devoted to the Church of Toran.  If these ideas you listed are the principles of The Grey Circle,  then I would be honored to fight with you.  Call on me whenever you are in need of a Paladin.

I will oppose the darkness with you as long as your actions don't oppose the ideals of Aeridin.

*on an attatched section to the note*
I would be honored to join your fight.  I have stood in silence about these things for too long.  It is time to take action.  I am but a humble Monk, but should The Grey Circle need my help, I would be honored to join their fight.

*Tath walks up and reads shaking his head, and writes below*
You people just don't get it do you? You can't get rid of any magic, you can't destroy it, and you can't prevent it's use. All magic is essencial to the delicate balance that has been achieved through the Weave.
If you want an ally against Sinthar Bloodstone and his generals, you'll find it in me, however I will not help you in your little crusade against all things that are deemed by you to be wrong.

* Each of you, who have answered the call receive a letter. *

A meeting will be held. You will be given more detail about The Grey Circle, and you will be able to ask the questios that you believe need answering.

We ask you to think it through once more, and make up your mind fully if you want to join our organisation. We are in need of people with initiative. People who wish you involve themselves into the situation of the world, and join a cause.

We are taking the matter of necromancy very seriously. We have heard the arguments of those that oppose our views, but have found none of these good enough to change our opinions on this matter. We believe that Layonara could be a better, and safer place without it. It would mean change, but change that can lead to peace and happiness. That possibiliy is worth all of our efforts. Therefore we work actively to accomplish this goal. Currently we are kept very busy by several other threats, but we have not lost sight of our goal.

Consider what has been said here. In a few days time you will receive note on the time and location of the meeting. If you have doubts, then perhaps you should not attend.

We thank you for the interest you have shown.

* The letter is signed with a circle painted in grey colour. *

* Those who have signed up positively on the post, receieve a wax-sealed letter. *

A meeting will be held in a little more than a week from now. At this meeting our activities will be
described to you more in detail, and you will be given the oportunity to ask questions.

I humbly ask you not to tell anyone about this meeting, or the location of it. We have enemies, who
might take advantage of this.

* Again the letter is signed with a drawn circle in grey colours. *

// First of all I would like to thank everyone who has shown interest. It is nice to see that so many
want to get involved. The reason why I am not PM'ing everyone is that more people than I had anticipated
have answered the call. The day, time and location of the meeting will be put on the Player Calender.
Before you show up though, please consider this carefully:
- Do I want to get involved in a guild? If yes, am I willing to do some work to keep it running?
- Most of what will be happening is RP only. We might do a trip once or twice, but mainly the guild has
been about the gathering of information, so that we might collect the bits and pieces and try to make some
sense of it. This refers to information regarding the plot, but also things that happen on every-day quests.
- The guild is first and foremost a secret guild. We use our senses, we investigate, and if we judge the
time for action has come, we act.
- Are you still interested?

I hope the above explanation can save some of you the time of attending the meeting and discovering that
this is nothing for you. :)

AND!!! Remember this message was sent by letter, only to the people who have answered the call positively.
What has been written under the text in the letter is strictly OOC !!!

* Skarp-Heiden reads the notes in the inn, when he sees the one about "The Grey Circle"
he starts laughing. “I bet that all necromancers in the area have copied this list of persons
by now” he thinks. He walks out off the inn still grinning “I bet these people writing themselves
on the list didn't think about that” he mumbles. *

Another fool with the same idea....he thinks a few adventurers can ban a school of magic.....he thinks the King will listen to him instead of the Academy of Magic
