Is a creature with true seeing able to see someone with greater sanctuary cast. I initially assumed so but then I got pretty close to one and it didn't see me. Maybe I didn't get close enough but it would be good to know this. Thanks.

No, they're not supposed to be able to see someone in Greater Sanctuary (creatures with TS that is). In G-Sanc nothing should be able to see you, however occasionally they will spot you, and most of the time it is a TS NPC. Just be careful even if you're in G-Sanc... treat it like sneaking... you may or may not be spotted (most of the time not).

Thanks.

According to the True Sight spell description ingame that i was used to in some other server, it's actually supposed to pierce through G. Sanctuary aswell.
Was the TS spell changed for Layonara?

acording to the Greater Sancuary description things with true seeing should not see things that are G. Sanc

as i understood it, it was supposed to be that nothing could see through GS, unless you did something actively hostile. the arguement was always on the order of:
if you are in GS, are you on another plane and are you able (should you be able to) affect this one, as in healing fighters while in GS, as they front line, or (on some servers) rescuing dead bodies in impossible places. if you were ABLE to, then it is a powerful weapon for mages and clerics.... they can cast heals while not actually fighting, and can buff where needed, making a VERY potent fighting force for a smaller group than would normally be possible. a mage and a cleric with a bard and 3 fighters could take pretty much anything, with the mage buffing, the cleric healing and they would be able to do it without worrying about being attacked in battles.

Not true ... while in Greater Sanctuary you can not cast spells. If you do the following message appears "Due to being etheral your spell fails." Trust me I cast GS all the time now. No spells while under these effects. It only can be used on the caster I believe as well. These factors may be changes from other modules and how Layo has balanced the spells.

thats because Layo changed greater sanc, so you can't just attack your way out of G. Sanc

True Sight doesn't let you see someone with Greater Sanc because you're not hidden. You're on another plane basically, kinda. But you're not under an illusion.
Greater Sanc was balanced in Layonara by removing the ability to cast spells while under it's effect. Baiscally the plane you're on disrupts magic.

Allrighty, thanks for clearing that up. :)

okay.... well... so far, i can't use it, so i didn't know, however, it IS different, on other servers and whether or not anyone agrees with the underlying philosophy of the aruguements, i have seen, layo has made the decision quite simple.. hehheh definitely clarifies it, and, it's good to know, BEFORE i use it and try something ...hmmmmm dangerous?? ahahahahahahahhaah
so... yeah... thanks for clarifying it!
