Title: No XP awarded for killing certain balors (not summoned ones)
Post by: Talan Va'lash on July 02, 2005, 11:22:00 PM: I had forgotten to post this but Vy's post made me think of it again.

I believe its the Balor Prince's and High Prince's.

They are not summoned creatures (well... they were likely summoned at one point to be on the material in the first place... but i digress) but they dont award any xp, there is no xp entry in the server mssg window at all.

I don't remember if this affects any of the other balors, as i've killed balors before and gotten XP as well.

Or zero, actually in this case. You're right. Seems strange. It might be because they're marked as plot? It's been a while since I've DMed here, so I have no clue how things work on that side. Going to bow out of this one.

Post by: ZeroVega on July 03, 2005, 07:15:00 AM: Only reason you wouldn't get xp for a creature would be it's a Summon or it's possessed by a DM. Think back to whether or not it was using all of it's good powers, and maybe that'll solve it.

Post by: Talan Va'lash on July 03, 2005, 03:29:00 PM: well, I got greater ruined twice... It was using its good powers. But it may have been possessed, not sure, Pan was running most of the ones I encountered.

Post by: Rhizome on July 03, 2005, 08:40:00 PM: Talan is right here. I've killed several of the Balor Princes and have received no xp for them. I know there was no GM on at the time to possess the creature. I also know it is a placed creature, not a summon.
This happens with all the Balor Princes I've encountered in various areas, so it seems to be an issue with the creature itself.

Post by: orth on July 04, 2005, 02:47:00 AM: Fixed in next update. The custom fireball script that gets fired when they die did not have the xp allotment.
