Often the PC Emote Wand chat commands do not work.
For instance, typing *sits* or *sits down* or even *sits on floor* should all trigger the sitting animation until the PC moves. However, this does not occur very often (and looks down right silly when you're trying to RP properly by typing *sits* and your character doesn't sit... then everyone sees you use the Emote wand, displaying the "use special power" animation and then sitting). Sometimes it works, but I've noticed that more often than not it fails to trigger the animations.
Also, is there a list of which emote wand commands trigger which animations? Right now I only know of the sitting one.

I have found they work at times and at other times they do not.
I have not been able to decipher any discernable patter though.
-
They only work when there is a "listener" nearby.
I think most NPCs work for this function, and "the voice" which is a part of the language system.
To make these commands work consistently, use language ear to create "the voice" with it nearby you the commands will work.
If your character doesnt have any ears... then i dont know what to tell you. heh

What Talan said.
I know there is a system out there that does away with 'listeners' but I have never tested it overly much. I also know that 'listeners' cause overhead and in turn they cause lag to a degree.

Thanks for clearing that up.
My character has ears, but how do I create this "the voice"?
EDIT: Well if they cause overhead than I may just forget about that

When you activate an ear "The Voice" is automaticly created. It's completely invisible to everything and everyone and basicly takes the words you type in /dm [Words here] and converts them into the proper language which it displays over your head as if you said em (which you essencially did). So in order to create "The Voice" just activate an ear.

I'm so glad someone brought this up.
I swear I was RPing one day and typed in *Scans horizon for Glenn"
And much to my glee, IT WORKED!
An animation I had never seen played, and my character actually put a hand up over his brow and pivoted ever so slightly left and right for a few seconds.
Oddly enough, when I've tried to show it to friends it doesn't work.
I think I'll just keep trying. Maybe it'll work after a while.
Does anyone else have an animation they discovered?

What is worse is when NWN grabs part of a word and acts out the emote for you. hehe
*gets ready* .... (( and your character emotes reading something))
-
What is also sometimes quite annoying is when you type something and your dicebag is rolled automatically.
*listens to music*....((Listen check gets rolled))
-
Or when someone recounts something important around a campfire and a you type *look gravely into the fire listening.* and Your char stands up and does a listencheckroll. :p
EDIT: Har Jac!

You can turn that off with your emote wand by clicking the Toggle *emote* commands in your PC Emote Wand menu.

A nice thing I had seen happen a few times was when I wrote *whistles* the character actually whistled, loved that one :)
-
I have seen that one as well, as I use whistling quite a lot when scouting.
Other one I have seen is *scratches head*....works quite nice if you are an orc with fleas.
-
I often have the listen emote fire off... and I usualy end up being completely deaf to what is being said...
