I direct you to this article so that you can see what I am talking about. Note where the Geforce 4 Ti appears compared to where the 9800XT appears and the 9600. The Geforce 4 Ti is a generation before the 9600 and 9800.
Always new my videocard sucked big time, but I never imagined it to be this bad compared to others. Click the link and yes, I have the Radeon 9200 SE. :(
I'm really starting to wondering what I'm missing out concerning graphics. Is there anyone who has played NWN with 9200 SE and a better card?

The 9600SE and 9200 both beat out the NVIDIA 5200 Ultra in this benchmark. This is interesting, considering that Neverwinter Nights was written in OpenGL around NVIDIA hardware and has done better traditionally on the same. The positive thing to note about NVIDIA performance on this benchmark is that the minimum frame rate was 12 as opposed to the 9 for both ATI cards.
Well until two days ago I had NVIDIA 5200....god it was awful. If you look at this screenshot http://www.layonaraonline.com/forums/photos/show-album.asp?albumid=69&photoid=634 you will see just how ugly it was. But I must say that graphic wise, NWN doesn't offer much. A better video card only means that you'll get beautiful shadows and moving water and grass. So in other words, you aren't missing much with NWN, though you are missing a lot with all the other games.

Interesting.....I have a NVidia 5200 and my graphics does not look that bad at all. I can see the grass and moving water fine on mine.
It does seems that there is a problem since the update to 1.66 because I tend to crash out a lot these days even if I set all the settings to the lowest levels.
Not sure why....but perhaps it is time for a new vid card.

I am running on FX 5600 and the game definitely doesn't seem to look as bad as on the posted screenshot. Although it may be just the blur from the poor quality image.
If you really want to see how bad can NWN look like try running it on Celeron 433 with Riva TNT2. :) .. and I have played NWN using it over a year.

Got a Radeon 9200, graphics aren't bad, but there are a few issues with my computer ever since I installed it. Like I can't see the Start/Programs menu on my desktop - no idea how to fix this as I'm not very computer savvy. A few other errors too.
-
I got a Radeon 9800 pro. Works like a charm with most
games with heavy graphics. But I think its the card
that makes my NWN crash 19 of 20 times.
-
I have a 9200 se on my other comp and it was (though of using somewhat inapropriiate word here) awsome. I now have a 9800x I think it is and it does just as good and better, though I found the multidesk program with the se handy :)

ive got one of the Nvidia's....cant remember the actual model name
it works like a dream on NWN....i almost never crash on NWN and its out-dated to boot
-
Yeah, it's not like you need the new UBER MEGA GEFORCE 800000 PROFESSIONAL 1337 EDITION to play NWN.

I just got one of these babies from Best Buy for just under 200 bucks. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&kw=ATRX700PA&is=REG&Q=&O=productlist&sku=387439
One heck of a birthday card! :) Though I waited all this time with just my Geforce 440mx and all my other games look wicked now, the only improvement NWN showed for me was letting me see a few more shadows and water ripples. You should see this thing render Guild Wars and Doom III though ;)
Luckily NWN is pretty supportive of old cards. My Geforce 440 rendered everything just fine with 64mb of vram, and one of my Lan connections even makes do with a Ragepro128 (which ironically just has 32mb vram, I think the 128 means it was one of the 1st 128 bit processors for a video card... like 4-5 years ago!)
