He's dead, Jim.
Sorry, someone had to do it. :)
Yeah, besides the over-the-top portrayal of Capt. Kirk, Scotty was definitely among my favorite characters in the entire Star Trek franchise.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Scott

Nah, they'll just get a nameless guy wearing yellow to do it every time. And they'll all die to a static discharge resonance burst each time too. You know, because they don't have a last name and nobody loves them anyway.

A sad sad thing. Well at least he lived a long life and brought entertainment to millions.

Live long and prosper
May Scotty be screaming in the after life "I can't do it captian, she's gonna blow!"
-
Rest In Peace.

Definitely sad to see the man go. Scotty was one of the most entertaining characters Star Trek has ever had; always getting drunk on the job, flipping out on the bridge during negotioations, getting into bar fights with klingons and arguing with the captain about every time he wanted to gear the ship up to overdrive. Furthermore, what I liked most about him was that even though Kirk was the captain, Scotty always called the Enterprise his ship, his baby. He'd probably take it to fisticuffs if Kirk slapped a bumper sticker on the hull without his approval.
*sighs* some very memeorable moments with this man. I certainly hope that he is happy now free from that horrible, deabilitating disease. There are few things more emotionally deveastating to a person than losing their mental facualties to Alzheimer's.
