I decided to start writing a journal today, so that when i'd die, people could read of my path to fame and fortune (and to mastery of the cardgame -creatures, as well.)
- First Entry -
I believe you would be very interested of my background, but I will just say that my family was slaughtered in the destruction of the village, Damo and I have been living on the streets ever since.. anyway, Not long ago, one exceptionally dark night.. -i could barely see in front of me and my torches were too wet from the rain, to light up. I stumbled upon the gates of a small town. (Don't ask where, I am completely lost.)
Anyway, I entered the town and went straight for the inn, rented a room and slept.. a quite uncomfortable night really.. had this strange dream.. A dragon talked to me about some total nonsense.. anyway, after i woke up with all places aching *note: the beds at the inn are death!* I looked around the town.. brought a package to a particular lady and made a little gold.. By the way, i found out the town's name was Hlint. Later on, i spent most of my gold at the gaming room at the inn. I now have a full deck and some extra cards i won from a boy I played against.
Then, this tax collector I found myself talking to, asked me to bring herself her lost taxbook.. well, of course i accepted the offer when she mentioned a reward.. I bought myself piece of leather armor in the east side of the town and went down to what they call "The undercity" .. looks more like a sewer to me! .. I found there's alot quite mean-teethed rats there.. i managed to take them out quite easily however.. A level lower, I ran into a crazy wizard who, at first shot a flaming arrow at me! The thing burnt my arm and left a mean mark.. he however, treated the wound and apologised, offering to help in the recovery of he tax book, and I couldn't refuse an extra hand now could I? .. Together we succesfully dispatched this "ratman" Ugly fellow by the way. and brought the book to the tax collector.. I am quite satisfied with the reward.. It's alot more than the postmaster gave for his lousy runner-boy task. Anyway, the same day i saw a giant walking on the streets. at first I stood back and kept my blades ready, but as i realized this giant who called himself "Fragsnot" was indeed quite friendly. Though i wouldn't trust any of his kin, I have no problem with his presence. But then i met a drow.. actually three drow! This place is confusing me.. all kinds of creatures running about but everyone seems to be fairly friendly towards each other.. an interesting phrase i picked up from a rather sick-looking fellow.. that Hlint is a cesspool.. Anyways, a few days later one of the drow turned on me, stealing all the gold i had collected on a small adventure to the swamps.. This was outrageous.. I spent the entire day at the inn and the next day in bed. Later on, after an interesting boar-hunt adventure and a grim day of gambling at the inn, I finally managed to afford a Dragon card for my deck! Soon after that, i set out with a group that was looking for oaks to chop.. In case we'd run into some extra cash. It seemed i was right, I did manage to collect some cash plus an angry halfling who keeps accusing me as a thief because I just had a small look at a cup at a particular Toranite's house, and borrowed some coins from a temple at the Port.. (note: manticores dont have anything of value) I left the group at the inn of Port something.. (note: the statue at the square near the gates looks quite valuable.. If I'd just get a wizard to move it...) Today, I made my way back to Hlint and just couldn't resist checking this one quite rusty lock in a door of one of the houses.. As i quessed the lock was easily opened and after examining the house, I found a chest of some gold pieces in it. I decided to take the gold for safekeeping in case some nasty thief would come in.. My hand is aching from all this writing, and I'm eager to go try my dragon card out. So I'll stop here.
