Hmm... inspired by the nonstopping spam of "listening to" and "now playing" scripts on the Layonara IRC channel I decided to make a post here too...
Thought it might be fun to know what kind of music people here listen to anyway.
So yeah, idea is simple. Post here what you're currently listening to when reading the thread... if anything. And if you're not listening to anything at that moment or just feel like writing a bit more, feel free to tell us what you've been listening today, this week, lately, so on...
So yeah...
Now Playing: Sentenced - Excuse Me While I Kill Myself
And today I've been listening to um... Pain of Salvation, Charon, Tristania, Catamenia, Opeth and Sentenced...
Heh, not going to list what I've been listening to lately as that might be a bit long list.

currently listening to a three year old screaming his head off *shakes head wearily*
-
Well, I most certainly don't listen to "everything," as most people tend to kid themselves. :)
Here are a few things I really enjoy:
Larry Carlton
Lee Ritenour
Neal Schon
IQ
Porcupine Tree
Pink Floyd
Frank Zappa (mostly his instrumentals)
Doobie Brothers
Ricky Skaggs
bella fleck and the flecktones
I've also been getting into Art Zoyd lately.
Those are the main ones, and I also listen to quite a bit of commercial music casually when I have the chance.
I used to be a big metal head...
I still like Blind Guardian though quite abit.
Opeth is a good group too, used to listen to them quite abit. I remember when the magazines were freaking out about Blackwater Park...Nowadays, I only hear them when my students wanna learn it though. Hehe...

Currently I have been listening to a lot of Liquid Tension Experiment and Sevendust. A bunch of other stuff here and there but those I keep coming back to. I listened to the latest Ra disc but didnt really get a good feel for it so I have to go back and listen again.
-
Heh, I've recently discovered a new genre that always lightens the mood:
Irish drinking songs!
-
Liquid Tension Experiment is quite good Regnus. Dream Theater has so many side-projects though it's hard to keep up.
My listenings as of late have mostly been Industrial/ Electronic / EBM based music, such as:
In Strict Confidence
VnV Nation
Aphex Twin
Delerium
Conjure One
Frontline Assembly
Other things have slipped in as well, like Dream Theater, Queensryche's "Operation: Mindcrime", Evergrey, Tool, and the soundtracks to the Silent Hill video games (my favorite console game series of all time).
-
Not that anyone cares, but...................... I am listening to:

Misc. DDR songs (I'm a geek, so what!)
Hikaru Utada, BoA some other J/Kpop/rock
Led Zeppelin and Metallica
90's rock (My favorite band is stone temple pilots, and other bands I like include Weezer, Cranberries, 311, RADIOHEAD)
Others - Flaming Lips, Travis, Guster
And a band I just recently got into - Muse.

All right, hmm... Gah! Music library is too big (more than one thousand bands, and over sixteen thousand songs). Some of the bands are Linkin Park, AC/DC, Beastie Boys, Led Zepplin, System of a Down, Flaming Lips, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, Tool, and A Perfect Circle.

The Flaming Lips hahaha. The only song I've heard by them is the one about Yoshibai or something. She's a black belt in karate. Hey Yoshibai, they don't believe me. But you won't let those robots defeat me. A friend of mine drove to my house this one time just so I could hear that song.
-
It's "Yoshimi". From the title track of the album "Yoshimi Battels the Pink Robots". (It is either part one or part two, I forget.)
// edit: reworded.
-
Chevelle - Send the pain below
Changing to either Rammstein or Audioslave after this CD is over, or maybe Kent... ahh almost forgot I had Muse.
-
Chevelle! Woo!
I just realized that I don't say very much.
-
Wow, this thread makes me feel a little out of it music wise.
Lately I have been listening to:
Johny Cash, Chris Ledeux (pretty sure I misspelled his name), Reverend Horton Heat, Junior Brown, Tom Petty, Metallica, and The Minstrels of Mayhem.
-
currently listening to:
Streetlight Manifesto "Everything goes Numb" CD
Reel Big Fish "We're not Happy, Till your not Happy" CD
Catch 22 "Keasby Nights" CD
Red Elvises "I Wanna See you Belly Dance" CD
Aquabats "Charge" CD
been in a ska mood a lot recently so those are my current rotation heh

Currently listening to: Me saying "Happy happy happy happy happy happy" over and over and over, because today is day 6 of 6 of my straight-in-a-row-working-streak. Tomorrow is my day off! Wooo!
What do I normally listen to? Well...
Stuff.
Like Led Zepplin!
And sometimes Whitesnake.
AC/DC is never bad.
SavaTage is an okay band that nobody has heard of.
Old stuff.
Oh, don't forget Van Halen. Never forget Van Halen. I'm wearing the T-shirt I got at their concert on MY BIRTHDAY right now. So I like Van Halen. JUMP!
What else... *thinking* I'm tired, didn't sleep much but I should be able to come up with a fe- Rush. Yes.
Steve. Vai. There's the mighty words.
How 'bout a little Joe Satriani to go with that?
Well, if we're on this subject of Steve Vai, why not a little Frank Zappa, too?
And, finally... Uhm... *thinks real REAL hard*
Well, I guess Greenday isn't too bad.
So, a compiled list:
Led Zepplin (Just like all the rest of you)
Whitesnake
AC/DC
Savatage
Van Halen
Rush
Yes
Steve Vai
Joe Satriani
And sometimes Greenday. Depending on my mood.
-
I'm more into the extreme end of the spectrum myself.
The cds I've been listening to solidly this week are:
Deathflaw (local band) - demo
Zyklon - Aeon
Myrkskog - Superior massacre
Behemoth - Thelema.6
Intestine Baalism - Anatomy of the beast
I haven't listened to emperor in almost two weeks, I need a fix...

I find her music really relaxing....
*looks around sneakily*
