I hope this is the right place for an introduction...
Well hello everyone! I'm Ioskeha (yes, yes I know that I made a type-o when I registered my handle :P)
I'm, hopefully, going to be a new player on this server. I just registered to play a few mins ago and have been looking the back history of this game-world. I'm very impressed with how much thought went into the history of this setting. One can really tell that this world is a labor of love from it's creator. I can't wait to experience this game-world for myself. :)
Well, I thought I'd just pop in and say a quick hello while I wait to be approved or not.
BTW, if a mod can; could I request a name change to my untype-oed name? ;)

Welcome! Hope you have fun here!
and the easiest way to fix your name would probably to reregister with the correct name before you get to much further on

Guten Tag! Welcome to the great community PW known as Layonara! One piece of advice I can give you is... READ! Read EVERYTHING, in the Players section of the forums for sure. Another thing is ask questions, if you can't find it on the forum and need some help, just ask! We will gladly give our best advice and try and help as much as possible. Hope you have fun and hope to see you in-game.
Once again,
Welcome to Layonara!

Welcome! Enjoy your stay in this wonderful world that Leanthar and Company have painstakingly put together for us!
And yes, READ everything! And do not be afraid to ask questions. We won't bite. Well, some of us might.... :)

Thanks for the welcomes, and advice, everyone. I've spent a bit of time reading about the history of this game world while waiting for my registration to come back. I've got a feeling that I'll be doing a bit more once I start downloading the hak pak. I didn't realize it was so large. Could anyone tell me just how much disk-space it takes up once it's unpaked? At the moment I don't have much disk-space left and kind of need to know how much I'll need to free up.

1.61 gigs for the hak files and 2.85 megs for the tlk file. The additional music adds quite a bit also.(366 megs)
-
The Haks are rather large but are definately worth it,
I just checked and my Haks are taking up 1.61 GBs, hope that helps you
EDIT: *sighs* people are much to fast for me...
-
Heheh. Snooze ya lose. :P
-
The haks arent really that big are they? Do you guys have all the old versions of the haks still in your folder that you're counting?
-TV
Edit: wow, they weren't kiddin... the haks are huge!

*hands Drizzt a cookie*
Well, welcome to Layonara. It's good to see some fresh blood... *licks his lips* around here. Always enjoy new meat to munch... err... punch on. You'll probably be considered a newbie for a while regardless of your RP experiance but don't worry everyone will warm up to you soon. *preheats his oven to 350 degrees F* The best suggestion I have for you is get out and RP, be social, and I wouldn't go for too dark of a character... oh and feel free to drop on my character any time... he'd love to have you for dinner.

Wow that's one monster of a hak pak. Installing that will bring my NWN folder up to 11 Gb. *sighs* It looks like I better hurry up and finish Wizardry VIII so I can uninstall it and make room for this hak pak - that is if I can get a character accepted.
Thanks for the info, everyone. :)
