Jump! Or fly! Call a group of dwarfs that dig you a tunnel. *scratches head* Or wait. If you get hungry eat the chickens!

this is getting stupid, 40 minutes and not a single DM has helped yet,
they can't be that busy that they can't get some guy off a cliff.

They might be ... y'know .... sleeping ...

DMs have lives too ... and they work here because they enjoy it. They are not some static beings sitting around waiting for your beck and call ...

Now that I have that out of the way ...

If you have any flint and tinder, try to stand near the edge of the cliff, drop the tinder, and light a campfire with the flint. This should push you beyond the "wall" there and put you where you need to be.

Or atleast you will be warm.

tried it, didn't work.
neither did the familiar trick.
theres two DM's in game though.
I'm sure they could spend atleast 1 minute getting me off a cliff and then i wouldn't be annoying the hell out of them through the dm channel

Even if they arein game (and as DMs, not their PCs) they may not be at the keyboard, or they may be helping someone with an equally critical problem. If you really cannot wait anymore, then check and see if any of the DMs are playing their characters, and send one of them a tell asking for help getting unstuck. Normally, it is not acceptable to send tells to DMs about DM things while they are playing, but being stuck is one of the exceptions.

Bryantiza - 9/17/2005 8:01 PM  theres two DM's in game though.

If we're in game, clearly we're not reading forums. Next time, you may also want to expand your subject to 'Help DM's: stuck in game', because now it could equally have been something not so urgent.
Also, you could also have logged into layo's IRC channel, usually 2-3 DMs are on there, and if you type somebody's name in that channel, that person gets an alert.

Killing NPC's and CNR creatures is against the server rules unless you're on a DMed quest and its somehow appropriate.  (no idea when killing CNR creatures would be appropriate on a quest... but I'm betting it will be at some point on one of Lonn's quests.)

First I have heard of the 'IRC channel.' How and where does someone log into it?

Heh. Well I have to say I'm on the channel 24/7 but doesn't mean I'm there or even have any IRC client running on my PC or even have my PC on and so on. Just running IRC in screen on an university cluster so it kinda looks like I'm there all the time... well and I see the messages later when I open that screen.

One way movement rocks scatted about the land where players get commonly trapped with a VERY low DC of say 5 would save time hassle and furstration..

not to menbtion making hlint and a few other areas with walls a little bigger IE hlint is 12X16 grid right? make it 13X 15 and take out any walls that are blocking the 3 main gates... I have said this a few times but no one is listening to me and NO this isn't a Vent or a flame... I am trying to make my self be heard.

To tell you the truth I have never even heard of the IRC channel.
And from the sounds of it not many people do.
I wasn't really thinking at the time. Do you know how boring it is being stuck on a cliff for nearly an hour?
I blame Aleister. I wouldn't have even been there if he hadn't made me go out and get ingredients for ink of conjuration.
Well anyways, see you in game.

You know...it's no one's fault you were stuck up on that ledge.  It's an unfortunate side-effect of lag sometimes. And had there been a GM available, he/she would have answered in some manner.
But remember we do have other things to do sometimes, many of which exist outside of Layonara.  Myself, I was cutting the grass at my house. Trust me, I would have rather been in-game helping you down from the ledge than mowing the lawn, but reality had different plans.
We do our best, but we can't be everywhere. Thank you for your understanding.

Blame is it? Fool mage. Fine. I happily accept your blame. And in the same breath I happily give you double work detail. I hope you enjoy the desert. I hear there are few hills. :)

I whole endorse the idea that Aleister is at fault... if he hadn't forced the poor man to work, then he wouldn't be stuck on a cliff. Bad Al bad... making people work for things they want from you... your rich and powerful... you're supposed to be paying for the little people, and doing their chores... :P
