*posted at all the Inns*
Two nights ago I passed through the Broken Forest; I have never seen the oak trees so butchered. This has to stop before something is done about it. Before nature does something about it!
*No name is present on the poster*
-
*Posts a note attached to this one*
Butchered? Howso? By what? What has to stop?
I humbly suggest that the author use more precise and descriptive language to articulate their point, rather than leave vague annonymous messages that could be interpreted as implied threats to beings unknown for actions unnamed.

*A red line seeming of blood heads this note*
To all who cut the trees to the ground, to the ones who have been raping the forests of Mistone for to long will find darkness.
*No name is present on the poster*
-
*chuckles as he reads the humorous posting *
-
*Skarp-Heiden sighs and mubles "where do all these cursed tree huggers come from" he spits on the ground and walks away.*
-
Barravelve Vlosstrea reads the note and chuckles, then puts up his own.
"Tie yourself to your own disgusting tree so that we can cut you down at the same time and save us trouble."
The note is not signed.
-
*An silver haired gentleman stops and reads the note and laughs* Dear me, I say... for all the seriousness of this notice, I wonder how our "benifactor" missed the absurdity of this claim in light of the paper it's written on.. *chuckles to himself and leaves the notice unmolested for others to enjoy it's humor*
-
*In flowing script* I have seen the Butcherer of the Trees. Here is a Portrait of the Tree Killer.
*A stick Figure of a Man with a Line Drawn over it "Kharl the Paladin"*
no name is signed to this message.
-
*Zeos comes along and reads the notice*
Bah! people are always complaining.
*grumbles to himself before seeing Acacea coming and runs for dear life*
*He then mumbles some more* I hate that little runt *while hiding in the shadows until she leaves*
-
*Tcho reads all the notes that have been posted - attaches his own that's written in child-like hand writing*
Gah now paleskins fight over trees, they almost as stupid as Giants.
-
*Sees all the notes and wonders how many trees it took to make the paper.*
*Carves into the wall, which is...uh...made from wood too, below the notes*
*Jokingly and sarcastically* [big] Butcherers, all of you! [/big]
*Laughs about people complaining but not resolving, shakes his head and plants two trees*
-
*chuckles and helps Rodlin plant the trees*
-
//*cuts down the trees they just planted, grinds them into sawdust, makes paper, draws a picture of a tree and posts it on the inn*
-
*shakes head at Talan's reaction and wonder if it is in his nature to be cruel*
*starts another hole to plant Talan in*
-
// *looks confused as he sees several trees planted in the inn*
-
*Reads all the notes on the wall and shakes her head, then makes her own note*
I must agree with Lushen on this. The balance is being disturbed when the trees are cut to the ground instead of taking just what you need and leaving them to heal so that they will always be there to be used again and again.
Oh and in reference to snickers of where the parchment comes from: Some of us have the skill to look down and find the wood that has already fallen to the ground and use it to make parchment instead. As i did for this letter.
Walk in Nature's Path,
Kaelani Blackwillow

//Hey Kae ... Lushen did not sign his name to the letter ;) iIt is a na unknown author.
*Vellyn notcied the letter and the replies and wondered why people would be so willing to remove the life from the Forests just to make wooden weapons. Especially since those of nature had said there was a way to get the needed pieces without killing. It may only be a tree to some, but to Aeridin everything was life and thus held his love. Vellyn shook his head and walked away*
-
//oh poo, so sorry :o
*walks by and reads the new note, just to see what is being said now*
-
*Amarath walks by and wonders if he should start practicing to make copper furniture, since wooden furniture seems to be out of fashion real soon, then shakes his head and walks away*
-
I agree with the warning to many trees have been taken down in the prime of their lives to make silly artifiacts for man. Be careful nature has a very strange way of defending herself. It is not to say if you can not find loose peices of wood by all means cut a FEW branches off it will help the forest to grow strong and beautiful, just don't chop the enitre tree down.
Respectfully requested

*Add on to the first note*
Now Tcho was told, now he will see what nature can do your blood will be mine
*No name is present on the poster*
-
*pulls out some hickory parchment from his pack and wrtie the following*
You want Tcho's blood, you had chance and didn't take it. You paleskin is weak and scared, not stop Tcho when had the chance to. Tcho is of nature, like everyone. You want to make nature angry you keep provoking Tcho then when he works.
Tcho thinks paleskin fights for the wrong thing. Trees grow back, they easy to replace. Maybe paleskin should be worried about rocks that get mined, rocks not easy to replace. Once rocks gone they gone. Maybe paleskin not care about that part of nature.
Now Tcho go back to work. Makes paper so paleskin has paper to write his threats on.
-
*Paula wanders up, reads the latest note, and then laughs at how thoroughly stupid Tcho just made the treehugger look*
-
*Derrick scratches his chin and thinks...
Kharl is a Paladin?
*Draws a huge maul smashing into the stick figures face and then dripping blood in a big pool.
*Takes an axe in each hand and heads to the forest laughing maniacally
-
Tcho, be careful what you wish for. Nature has many friends you do not want to anger. I have never seen an angry rock. Mother Katia is not an enemy you want to have.
Again head these warnings and be careful where you venture.

One who has never seen an angry rock, has never seen an earth elemental.
-Talan Va'lash
-
Your very correct I have never seen an angry rock, Talan.

*Thinks Talan should take Raven to a certian cave on Xantril. . .

I am writing this note to Tcho on a parchment made from a tree limb where the tree as not killed. How do I know this? Because I know the maker of the paper and she values life. No one here has told you, Tcho, to stop gathering wood so that you may craft your fine wares. You have only been asked and then warned to stop killing the tree. Take one branch, maybe two, if the tree looks strong enough, but to kill nature will bring a vengeance from Katia. As a priest of Aeridin, I value life and would never come to harm you over this matter. But I do pray for your soul to Aeridin that you might return to the cycle of life upon your death ... which is sure to come if you continue to be an enemy to those who protect the forests.
This is my plea to you tree killer ... take a few branches from the forest, but stop killing the tree out right. Your life has more meaning than to die over a tree or else the Drgon would not have called you here in the first place.
Faithful Serveant of Aeridin,
Vellyn Cormiere

*a little puzzled as to why the notes keep piling up on the board, Paula takes out a piece of charcoal and scribbles below the most recent one, on the same piece of paper*
Everything's gonna die sometime, the only thing that changes is where, how, and when. Get over yourselves.
*it doesn't even occur to her to sign it*
-
A thick human looking figure clad in black approaches the board. He looks at the heap of papers, curled and tattered at the ends by now and gives a calculating smirk. He looks around the room to see if anyone is watching. It's in the middle of the night, or early morning actually, and the inn is basically abandoned. You just happened to be in a part of the inn, obstructed from view, conducting your unrelated business.
With a quick gesture from the dark figure the signboard begins to smoulder and then erupts into flames. The notes are consumed first, but they make perfect fuel to set the whole board and in a few moments the wall of the inn ablaze. It takes several moments before the smoke alerts the innkeeper, who bolts through the door and screams out for help.
Many buckets of water later the fire is put out and the inn seems safe. The arsonist, however, seems to have vanished with the smoke.
-
*walks into the Inn and looks to the broad*
Hmmm
-
*Walks up to what used to be the message board in a tatered inn*
*wispers to himself* " Hmmm now i need to find somewhere else to get tinder"
*then walks away*

Vellyn made his way into the Inn for a bit of relaxation. A strange occurance had happened the day before where his own summoned water elemental turned on him and killed him in an instant. He spent the day praying to Aeridin for clarity on the issue to no avail. It was in the Inn that he saw the burnt wall and wondered what had happened. THe only harsh thing he had noticed on the wall from previous looks upon it were from his companion and friend, Lushen. He hoped all was okay and left to seek out his friend.
