Has a rogue got any use for a high int? other than you would expect them to have a pretty high int to evade people and initiate plans..but is there any reason for me to have it any higher than 12? does it affect anything a rogue can do?

Talking under correction but I think all the following skills are influenced by your intelligence:
  - Disable trap - Search - Set trap
And then your int modifier is also used to determine skill points.

Higher Int. = more skills

A big strength of this class is its access to wide and varied skills. Each +1 in Int. roughly equates to another skill mastered.

So as usual ...it's an individual choice.

that's nearly a blasphemous question! Ranks! A rogue's strenght is in her/his many and exclusive skills, but of course (grumbles) the guys at bioware didn't succed in focusing in much more than fight.. BG FOREVER!
