I hate wanting to talk to some friends on layo out of character and either having to send lots of messages one by one on tell, saying the answer to stuff to all the people involved, or getting it across quick in party chat only to be told off.
I think that if we can't say OOC stuff in partyl then we need to atleast be able to send a mass tell or something. Where you can choose to send tells to more than one person at a time, or a whole new channel to speak OOC that works so that only those in your party can hear it...or something like that. I believe it would be a very useful function but then it does have a MAJOR downside of people talking OOC all the time and not IC...so there isn't really a way around this is there...hmm it suddenly hit me as i wrote this out...erm well some ability to send an OOC message to multiple people would be extremly handy and for one thing woud get rid of the '//gotta go' and that sort of stuff as they could just send the message to everyone that needs to know.

You can not do that with nwn--another one of those limitations.

But it's sooo much more fun not to be spammed with millions of unwanted tells... If we had "private group tells" there would be TONS of resources diverted for the dozens of channels each person would have... I know I would have quite a few.. after all.. I want conversation between me and x ... between me y and z... also... a and L and maybe J... but not all on the same one... especialy if it's personal stuff or what ever.

I'm glad it can't be done. :)

I agree...glad it can't work. The only real practical use I can see for this is something like // gotta go or // brb, which in my mind is perfectly fine for the party channel, and especially since a GM may need to know that esp. if it's on a quest.
If you really need to have a large-scale OOC conversation, do it outside the game, such as on our IRC channel.

You can always have an irc client in the background and stay logged
onto OneST8s server. Works pretty good if you run NWN in windowed mode.
