I took these shots off my back porch at about 6:30 this morning, it quit snowing long enough for me to get the plow on the front of the truck so I could go start digging out the senior citizens that live in the 'estates' I help maintain. It's snowed another 7" since then.

I love snow, but only to a point. With the 8 months of winter we get here it gets old after a while.

I'm still waiting for snow here but up in the mountains they have a lot! The ski areas have gotten about 72 inches this season already! I've got to tear myself away from Layo some weekend and go.

May I ask how a chair and a toy car found their way on top of the fence?

We had a sharp frost last night and the garden pond froze over.

Joking aside, great photographs, I would love to wake to a view like you have, it even makes me think of emigrating to North America. Does it get any worse than that in the height of winter?
We get the ocassional snow here in the UK; brings the whole country to a standstill, you would think we had never seen the stuff before. Forecast is for this winter,; the coldest winter on record.. My kids cant wait

When I mowed the lawn last I picked them up off the lawn and slung them over the fence to get them out of the way, if you look close there is a coil of hose in the garden as well, lazy groundskeeping, I know.

The local forecast here is calling for up to two more feet of snow in the next 3-4 days, normally we get about half that, but sometimes we get as much as 5 feet of snow here in the valley.

Where I live it's actually a pass-time to sit and watch the national news and watch people in other states try to drive in the snow, then smile our smug, superior, smiles. The snow here is just a fact of life, like thunder storms in the fall. The population of the state swells in the spring when it is nice and temperate, then drops off again about November, when all the people who moved here and bought over-priced real estate put their houses up for sale and flee back to warmer climates.
