The issue is Lag, and its real bad on this server. Seems to be the case with all servers ive been on which use a crafting system. While the Crafting system may not be the entire problem, it more than likely has something to do with it. Just the load caused on the server by people carrying huge quantities of stuff in their inventory, a problem exasperbated by the fairly large server population should be addressed. One must ask, is the ability to make you own gear verses buying it really worth the excessive lag caused by the system?

Yes it is worth it.. however you are correct, it does add lag spikes by people logging in and out and the way nwn handles inventory at that time.
*shrugs* We do the best we can.

What causes the lag on Layonara (in order of most to least):
1. Large parties
2. Player housing
3. Player's Inventories
4. Player spell fx
5. Player's connecting
Balancing lag with the demands for player features is always tricky and we like to think we do pretty good. Perhaps you are playing at peak times, we are also in a growth spurt right now with many new players. Once you make it to a level that you can head to the Central server, you will find lag a less of a factor. As a matter of fact the Central server was just up for 241 hours with over 1200 connections with lag being very minimal.
