so, now that I have realized this, how should I change... specifically, I chose my enemies (I'm a ranger) as goblins and orcs... which we have plenty of pc's running around as.
I do have a character development thread kinda going (otherwise I'd forget things!!!) should I work it into that? ie: I got word that my parents were killed today. They were ripped to shreds by orcs and goblins while they were roaming around Mistone. And then I can go into Hlint and start blaming all half orc and goblins for thier death? Or am I going to need to do a CDQ to completely change the way that I view others?

Favored enemies don't mean that you have to hate them, or have reason to. It just means that you have a lot of experience dealing with hunting those particular kinds of creatures.

thank you!!!!
puts it in more of a perspective

Pankoki and some others talk about rangers here.

I met you earlier on today in game and I don't think you are bad at all. A bit green maybe, but I think we all have a period of adjustment when we start on layo because of how different it is to other servers, I know I did :)

I have never RP'd with you yet, but I think it show alot that you are asking for help to improve your RP skills. :)
RPing to a new player can be daunting at times.
Keep at it! I am sure you will be fine. :)

You seemed to be handling the RP quite well at the Leilon Arms on Friday.
For some players, Layonara is their first RP experience. While Layonara is a Role Playing Server, It isn't mandatory to have years of experience role playing to be here.
Here are some tips:
- Keep //OOC to an extreme minimum. If you want to ask a question // OOC it is best to send a tell. That way very few people will see your OOC comments.
- Try to keep in mind where your character is from, your character's back story, alignment, disposition, etc and then respond accordingly to your environment.
- Make everything RP. Even mundain things. *Stops by the well and refills her canteens. Drinks deeply from one and looks at her surroundings.
I hope this helps.

why, thanks guys!!!
this IS my first time RPing, so I'm more-or-less clueless

Just remember, most of us were when we started. I've seen players that were obviously inexperienced at RP evolve into some of the best on the server.

Got to admit that I'll banter with just about anyone knowing there are ALOT of new people to RPing in general, let alone the game itself.
Only people I avoid say things like..."Let's go kill stuff" I curse the PK counter rule at that moment but only then. You'll do fine.
