Title: Death?
Post by: Weeblie on December 24, 2005, 10:43:00 AM
Well, got a two questions on the nice topic "death". :)

First one is: Do you die at 0 hp or, say, at -10? (i.e. you are unconcious if you got -5)

And the second one: Are you transfered to "abyss" or something like that, or do you get a "respawn/wait" message?

Oh, I nearly forgot it... Merry christmas!  ;)

at -10. From 0 to -10 you are bleeding to death and can't do a thing.

How do you RP the glow?
Or are you supposed to just park your char in the corner and come back in an hour (ie. you're a ghost, dont interact with anyone)?

I usually RP it just as a souless body.  the time in relfection is the time it takes to "pull yourself toegther" so to speak.  that is, pull the threads of your soul back to you.  DT's are threads you never manage to pull back.  Those that are familiar with the bindstones understand what's happened

Oh, and this has to do with that quest announcement of Leanthor's from a little while ago?
The 'remembering threads' stuff that I didn't understnad was perhaps a global reduction in death tokens?

And how do others RP the glow?

People sometimes speak of seeing ghosts because it looks as if the body is semi-transparent.

During this time you are:

1) Not a ghost.

2) Not souless.

The ghost misconception is an unfortunate consequence of the "glow" being whitish.  You're not a ghost, you can interact with the world, walk around, eat, talk to people, all the things a ghost can't easily do.

I've never head the "souless" idea before but the only time your soul is seperated from your body is the time between when you die, and when you appear at the bindstone.  What the bindstone does, is put the soul and the body back together.  Barring powerfull and obscure magics which can sometimes have unnatural effects like seperating the soul from the body in weird ways, if your soul is not with your body, it means you are dead.  By powerfull magics I mean things like, transforming yourself into a lich or trapping a soul in a gem.

The "glow" just represents that you look very bad, worn out, tired, haggard and weak untill you have physically recovered from your soul being torn from then reunited with your body.

Actually, i believe that when you're reduced to 0 HP you will will simply be rendered Unconscious (Stunned?) or something for a round and put back to 1 HP, but don't start losing HP immediately,

ahh, well, dern.  I thought the bindstones _were_ powerful magics.  =P.  Thanks for clearing that up, Talan.  The glow just means sickly and haggard, gotcha.
