ok, so my boyfriend just made his char here (Nylore) and I went through his inventory... no orb of rememberance...
does he have to find a gm in game to fix this? (he isn't posting cause hes in bed and doesn't know its going to affect things later...)

You probably went the wrong way in the Forest of Summons. You're not supposed to use the portals behind the dragon, but walk the path instead. I think it can be fixed by porting you back to the forest of summons and walk the path.
A GM will be needed for that of course.

after you go through memory lane bind at the bindstone in hlint rest and log out then back in and you should have the layo starting items in your inventory.
