I've just watched the third to last episode of the first series of Lost. I have to say at this point I am loving the whole thing. I just saw annoying fat teacher blokey explode himself whilst warning the others about the dangers, and the instability of dynamite when it sweats pure nitroglycerine. Superbly ironic and shocking way to go. Just wanted to know if anyone else has a favorite funny or ironic death scene.
-
Hmm...gotta be the death of Admiral Cane from the Battlestar Galactica remake
Then there's the death of Yuna from Gundam SEED Destiny. Love the end of that annoying antagonist
-
Lost is an amazing show. My favorite death had to be from the very 1st episode when the plane's jets were sporadically spinning. Some poor guy gets up from the wreckage and waves to a friend, "I'm alright!" and then... walks in front of the turbine. Immediately it spins back to life sucking him in and exploding.

I liked the annoying self centered chain smoking woman in Final Destination 2 getting the airbag/PVC pipe treatment, and the barbed wire diced drug addict from the same movie.
Vyris

I loved the scene in Princess Bride, where Indigo Montoya eventually tracks down the six fingered man; his fathers killer. Holding his sword to his throat, the man pleads for his life, offering gold, riches jewels, power. Finally he says I will give you anything.. To which Indigo replies, I want my father, you £$%%^!^.. . Then kills him.
Also the Terminator as it gets lowered into the molten metal.

Commando, with Arnold Schwarzenneger (sp? lol) when his daughter is kidnapped and there's the evil guy staring at him on a chair: "If you want to see your daughter, you'll cooperate, yes?" Arnold: "No." then shoots him on the head just like that. Man i laughed so hard, hehehe.
-
Certainly the death of the bad guy in "Indiana Jones - the last crusade" I didn't dare to watch before I was 13 or something (and it still gives me the creeps, but thats mostly because of the memories) The death of all the bad guys in the other Indiane JOnes movie wasnt bad either :P

Best Death ever.... Hmmm...My props are going out to the REAL way the Sergant Razek in Starship troopers dies.. Screaming at Ricco as a bug drags him off with a primed grenade in his hand.
-
O there is one we all know that is the best ever Death in a film
It’s when Major T. J. "King" Kong the cowboy hat waveing all American Pilot of a B52 RODEO rides his NUKE down to start the end of the world in
Dr. Strangelove or: "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"
YEEEE HARRRR RID-EM PONY!
That tops them all

Going back to the Indiana Jones, I love the scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" When the guy is making the fancy moves with the sowrd, threatening and egging on Indy, so Indy just pulls out his gun and shoots him. I still laugh when I see it.

Ya Arnold hadalot of good death dealing scenes albeit many were cheesy. Commandoalways made me laugh - just as the A-team (nowthere's a show!) did. Oneguy, hundreds of Columbian terrorists armed to the teeth, and Arnoldnever gets a scratch. Classic! When he and that out of shape guyfought, and he threw the steam pipe into him "let out some Steam bennet"- good stuff.

It wasn't scripted that way -- there was a big choreographed fight scene planned, but Ford was under the weather and ad-libbed the shooting. Call it "art by accident".

BEST DEATH EVER lol

Two:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the movie), Paul Reuben's death scene...and scene...and scene....
And Firefly, first episode, when Mal kills Dobson while walking into the cargo hold of the ship. Priceless.
-
I can think of a couple 'funny' one's I've enjoyed.
The protagonist's death at the end of the movie "Darkstar" where he rides a piece of his starship's debris down into the atmosphere of a nearby planet as though he's surfing on it like it's a surfboard.
----
Or, the long, drawn-out comedic death of the one vampire henchman in the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.
---------
---------
One of the more memorable dramatic death scenes I remember though has to be the death of Aeris in Final Fantasy VII and the scene after as Cloud let's her sink into the deep pool of water. Not a movie or TV show, per-se, but still a favorite.

- Ishii from Kill Bill, Vol. 1 and Bill from Kill Bill, Vol. 2
Tarantino turns violence into art.

We're talking funny?
Marvin in Pulp Fiction.
You know, the guy that has his head blown off by Vincent Vega. Comedy gold!
-
Back to Indy for a third time - the fistfight with the mechanic while the plane warms up. Indy's getting the snot beaten out of him, swinging a wrench at the guy to no avail, then glances behind the guy and falls flat. Big strong mechanic turns around... and straight into the airplane propeller.
This is why Rule 81 (http://www.eviloverlord.com/lists/overlord.html) exists, people!.
-
Ah... I love that list. #208 is mine, actually.
-
Ok....Pulp Fiction.....when Jules and Vincent are chatting about "Gods intervention", and Vincent turns to ask Marvins opinion.....BOOM!.....the car goes over a bump, the gun goes off, and Marvin ends up in the boot ( trunk ), whilst Jules and Vincent ponder how to clean the car, covered in blood, driving down Hollywood Boulevard.

46....46 is the best lol
-
the first few minutes of "the cube" where the bold guy steps into a room and get sliced into tiny square pieces...if you never seen this movie and like horror and movie when you constantly think...what the hell....watch it
-
One of my favorites is in the Resident Evil movie, when they are going down the laser-guarded corridor to get to the main computer room.
A laser beam spans the corridor, coming at them, turning into a gridded net, passing through the squad leader.
Then the POV changes so you can see him in glass reflection as his cubed body falls to pieces in a mushy pile.

oh oh, in Commando when Arny throws that saw blade at that guy... i dont recall eactly what it did, but he died and i remember it was great!
And a more recent movie. What wast it called... it came out on 6/6/06.. the ones about the son of the devil.. anyways yea tehre were alot of cool deaths in that one, then again that movie disgusted me, the part with the kids mom.. well not real mom but yea.. and the nanny with the IV and the air and the.. ugh.. hated the movie after that.
Oh yea got good deaths though, my favorit had to be when the priest was tring to get into teh church and the stained glass window breaks and he get impalied on that lightning rod with the stained glass sticking out of him.. that was soo cool. then the guy that got decapatated by the sign.. also very cool.

I liked Just about every death scene in Battle Royale. The movie was filled with them! *giggles* , and even though not everyone died, I enjoyed the Break/Sword dance fight in Kill Bill Vol. 1

I agree as to the Battle Royale part. Some deaths ironic, some serious, some sad. I loved it.

I don't remember many death scenes. But as I read about commando with the kind of Arnold being kidnapped I remembered a scene at the end where the bad guy gets pushed into a pipe with steam coming out. I remember Arnold saying something like: "let of some steam." I don't remember it to well but it’s one of the good parts about that movie that I remember. *turns around and looks at his DVD collection* hmm what else do I remember.
Well I do remember on other scene that always makes me laugh. It's not a death scene though. it's from Home alone 2 lost in new York. And I'm talking about the part where Kevin is on top of that building and the bad guys are below trying to get Kevin to give them the tape. Kevin agrees but doesn't through the tape but bricks down to them. That scene always makes me laugh. Must have seen it about 5 time if not more and it still makes me laugh. Even now it puts a smile on my face.
I know this tread was about deaths but for some reason I don't remember good death scenes. Oh oh oh. Now I remember one it's from the Mummy returns at the end where that mummy and that good guy are hanging on some cliff that goes to hell or the underworld or something. The love of the good guy come saving him but the on of the bad guy (what’s that mummy called) doesn't safe him and leaves. The way they die is just ironic. And then from the first movie the way Bennie dies, and Fraser I think is the actors name saying "good buy Bennie." I just loved that one when I first saw it.
He I know some good ones after all, took me long enough.

There was this one episode of Highlander: The Series where a mentally challenged immortal accidentally killed some people, so he stuck his head on the train tracks to commit suicide. Was a real tear-jerker. "Jimmy like trains, Jimmy go home now..."
Man I miss Highlander: The Series. After Highlander 4, I feel Hollywood OWES us all by bringing it back to prime time. I want my 6.50 back...
-
The end-scene in "Once upon a time in the West" is one of my favourites. Charles Bronson is the ultimate gunslinger... aside Clint Eastwood.
