My first few days have been scatterred with action and hazards, let alone meetings with strong adventurers, stronger even than me. After exploring Hlint for a while and equipping myself to the best of my ability i ventured to the eastern outskirts and whilst exploring the countryside i stumbled across an Elven camp, it was here i tasted my first taste of pain as i fled when a mage spotted me to alert some nearby strangers. However, when i warned them a female adventurer, a mage, began to cast a spell. What the spell was i have no idea but i was damaged none the less, whether by the adventurer or the Elf who may have followed me. Perhaps the fool of an adventurer mistook my running at her for an attack! Pah! In any case i believed the woman to have attacked me and, as i was outnumbered and outclassed, i fled back to Hlint.
After resting up and healing with the aid of some very powerful adventurers i went into the sewers to dispatch some rats. It was here that an Elf ran towards me being pursued by about half a dozen rats and a spider. I charged into them and dispatched 4 or so rats whilst she lended her bow here and there. However, i had not counted on the spider being so strong and its bite and venom were deadly to say the least so i fled once more followed by the remaining rat and the spider. I ran to what seems to be the common place to find adventurers like myself gathered and found a dwarf who killed both with ease, although he and his ox were poisoned, for that i feel guilty and hope they both recovered.
After healing once again i ventured down into the sewers again to find an adventurer of my current skill slightly ahead of me. We joined up and with his bowmanship and my melee skill we were a decent pair. When we got to the ratman of Hlint's lair however things turned bad. I was mobbed by too many foes and struck down but the bard (for i cannot remember his name) healed me, for which i am grateful. I had told him i didnt think we had a chance but he insisted, it turned out i was correct though and immediately after being healed i fled to the surface above to heal. I returned as quick as possible to find him running for the stairs, just as i had decended them, followed by a huge swathe of beasts. It was here he said his last word, 'run', to me. I ran for a corner so i couldnt be surrounded and cleaved through anything within my reach. I ran back up the stairs to find a rat and a spider, which i killed with ease, and his grave. I hope he had as much luck as i did, which i will explain now as i decided to go back to the surface and heal and then to explore the goblin wastelands to the west.
Goblins, as i soon discovered, are good shots with a bow, as this time i fell with nobody around to heal me and died soon afterwards. I appeared in a very dark place but before i could even move i went unconscious for many hours, how many i dont know but the next thing i knew i was at the bindstone in Hlint. Perhaps the same had happened to the bard? Either way i then decided to explore the crypts and made much money and gained a lot of experience from sending skeletons back to the abyss and giving them eternal sleep once more. Content with the experience i had gained i decided to travel back to the goblin wasteland to see the place i had died and whether a gravestone laid there for me and to collect five goblin ears for the quartermaster at Hlint. Luckily two very powerful adventurers, Tegan and the other's name i forget (although she did get excited at the smallest things), came with me and, with Tegan leading, we not only got five ears for the quartermaster but a copper nugget for the other adventurer too. This meant going into the goblin caves to fight many, many fierce goblins but they were no problem for Tegan's spells and me and the other adventurer simply dispatched the leftovers and those that were only injured, not killed outright.
I gained much experience from this which enabled me to not only go back into the sewers and retrieve the tax records, thus getting revenge for the bard, but to also get the essence of a lesser shadow from the crypts, although i died of disease whilst running back to the surface, pursued by a couple of skeletons and this time i was only in that dark place for a matter of seconds. In such a short amount of time i had suddenly completed the majority of the quests i had been given and made quite rich. And so i bought myself the armour i wear now and traveled to the place that i now stand - Fort Llast. So far i have collected some weapons for the leiutenant but i will depart soon to the Sielwood, just as soon as i can find the bloody forest!
