Hello to all of Layonara !
// I am new at this world , and new at roleplaying (meaning I an not very good
at it , but I do try , and learn from what I see others do) .
I am looking for information about how to make journals on parchment and if
I should post them here on the forums or not . If so , where do I post
them ? I have a wizard that has just learned he can do magic . And
considering what the "dragon" said , I have decided he will make journals .
Also , when I submit permission for something ( for instance being able to
use new spells , according to my pre-story remembered ) , where do I submit
those ?
I have also read a little somewhere here , that one can actually use the
forum here , to write something , and then somehow it ends up on your
character in game . Or did I misunderstand that ?
If it can be done , how is this done ?
Hope someone will be able to help me out here .

You need to have a LORE account, and use your NWN public key (go to http://nwn.layonara.com/PublicCDKey for the required characters {Note: Use only the NWN CD key and not the keys for the expansions, as the keys for the expansions might coincide with someone else's NWN account.) to be able to interact with the game-world. About the journal: A character development thread might be better because you can store more information per "page" of text.

Here's something Freldo sent to me to help me write on parchment using Lore:
First of all, buy the parchment folder and a few scrolls to write on. You'll need the quill and ink to be able to "read" the writen parchments in game.
Use the parchment folder on your newly bought scrolls and jump into LORE. On your character's page you'll see the Parchment Folder - in there you'll see the blank scrolls you added to the folder.
Now, write the stuff there (You might want to use Microsoft Word or Works or something else with a spell check if spelling plagues you) and log back in.
When in the game, use your parchment folder on yourself and the dialog window will pop asking you for which parchment to extract.
Whammo! There you go, you'll recover the parchment you had!
Use the quill on it and type '~~speak' to read the parchment's contents aloud or '~~whisper' to whisper it.
Editing it requires the syntax you see when you examine the quill. It isn't hard but if you're prone to poor spelling (like myself after 12:00 AM), it makes really poorly written parchments.
Oh, there is a VERY good reason to use the quill system - colors!

You only need to input the required part of the NWN key into the related field to be able to interact with the game world. The keys given for the expansions are not needed.

About reading the player-written text: examining the item also works.

Much help is avaiable with the quill usage by typing ~~help after you use your quill on either ink or parchment.

Oh , one more thing . How do I get a picture up here , for instance , like
LynnJuniper has . A real picture ?

Resise to whatever is the standard pixel x pixel size is and upload like any other?

@LBH, the width is a max of 150 pixels and the max file size is 200kb.

Hmm... it might be a good idea to mention, in the descriptions, that the OOC significations are needed under certain sections.
